Could this website be affected by North Carolina's new law (adult topic).

I've just read that NC, and possibly a few other states, are going to require websites that host porn to verify the age of every user accessing their site through some database. Some such sites are already blocking access in NC to protest it would seem double-checking this.

Of course, the nexus isn't primarily a porn site, but it does host quite a few obviously pornographic mods (Skyrim in particular is infamous for them, though it seems every game with realistic looking humans has at least one mod that makes the women naked, and of course games like Skyrim have straight sex mods for them too on top of this). Given this, could this website be subject to this new law? Knowing NC and republicans in general, they may try to enforce it on this site either way assuming they find out about some of the mods being uploaded. Other states are also considering such laws too, primarily ones lead by republicans.

Does the nexus have plans to deal with this? Could they even comply with such a law? Its not like they're making a lot of money. They may be forced to just remove all the adult mods to save themselves. Hell, the republicans in the future may try to just make it illegal to host such content, regardless of who is looking it up.

Its been the news for a while now that republicans are finally making a move to outlaw porn. In the past they were hesitant about it, fearing that enforcing any censorship laws could backfire on them. The nexus probably really needs to be taking all this into consideration, considering the content people have been uploading here for years. Lovers Lab would probably have more to worry about, granted, but lets be real this site hosts adult mods regardless of its primary purpose, and surely there's plenty of republicans who take issue with this. Some of the users on here may even try to report this site to the state, thus drawing the attention of any state that enforces such laws.

While I do not agree with some sort of database for 'authorized' users, there is a very real problem with minors being able to d/l and stream very hard core stuff.  I take issue w/your conclusion about outlawing porn.  That ship has sailed, which is why so much stuff is available, based on 1st Amendment challenges to earlier ban attempts.

With that said, all sides in the US have been trying to get around/stretch the US Constitution quite a lot lately.
