ThomicStridon79 Posted January 1 Share Posted January 1 I'm trying to create a patch between Imperious and my custom presets for player mod. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? I already know I'm supposed to use xEdit, and in xEdit I'm supposed to use the "copy as override" button, etc.. I've looked on Google, but cannot find a guide that seems straightforward. IsharaMeradin Posted January 1 Share Posted January 1 Considering that each patch is unique there isn't really a "how to" guide. xEdit can be used for some things while the Creation Kit might need to be used for other stuff (i.e. visual object placement). It all depends on what you need to patch. The main thing that needs to be known is that the Creation Kit, without having a fix applied, cannot use ESP files as parent plugins. Thus, making a patch between two ESP files requires toggling their header flags to indicate that they are ESM files despite having the ESP extension. Once the patch is made and it is time for testing in the game, the header flags need to be reverted and load order positions restored. xEdit, on the other hand, does not have this issue.
