Papajack55 Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 Going in game, any saves I have in there, does not play. I have tried cleaning the saves, and have tried every save before cleaning. Then I went to new game and transferred to a save game only to crash. It all just ctds. Any help here, or am I just doing something wrong?
363rdChemicalCompany Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 This has happened to most every player who has automatic updates enabled in last week or so. It did not happen to me since i have them turned off. A steam update moved your files around to another folder (steam screwed up) I saw a thread on reddit where a guy said a new steam update fixes it. So as a first step I would log on Steam and try to force a steam update
363rdChemicalCompany Posted January 14, 2024 Posted January 14, 2024 PS: from another forum: You will probably find the save files here on your PC: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\[Your Steam ID]\377160\ac\WinMyDocuments\My Games\Fallout4\Saves Copy or move them to this location and you should be fine: C:\Users\[Your User Name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Saves [Your Steam ID] is a number with probably seven digits. There should be only one folder like this in that directory. [Your User Name] is the name you use to log into your computer It might just be "User". PS: some folks report actual loss of some fiels but it seems most can get them back.
