Should I launch SSE through Vortex?

When I was new to modding I didn't realize that I was supposed to launch the game through Vortex and have just been doing it through Skyrim's desktop icon. This means SKSE isn't functioning, but all my mods work fine. However, I know that SkyUI will not work without SKSE (I have tested this). Unpopular opinion, but I really do not like SkyUI, so this wasn't a problem until I decided I want to get a new mod that is dependent on it. So for that mod I need SkyUI, which means I need SKSE to actually work, which means I need to launch through a different location. This is probably stupid, but I'm paranoid that launching through Vortex will, after years of using the default launcher, mess up my saves. Will it?

Thank you.

Launching through Vortex simply means using Vortex to run the same program that your desktop icon does, or, since you need to use SkyUI using Vortex; to run skse_loader.exe which should be in the game's root directory.  Of course you can just double click skse_loader.exe and run the game like that and not have use Vortex to launch.  Make a shortcut for skse_loader.exe on your desktop and use that:)

Thank you! I figured it would be fine but I live in perpetual dread than I'm going to screw something up and corrupt all my saves lol. (I have done that, but luckily I was able to un-corrupt them surprisingly easily.)
