Fix for Witcher 3 Next-Gen bug where the combat SFX are muffled when they hit enemies

Ever since the patch 4.00 release, the sound effects of my swords hitting enemies sound muffled. I did not have this issue with the earlier versions. Several others have complained about it yet apparently, only a select few have this issue.

(Here's a link from someone who has this issue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kT3KaKtQYEI )

I tried messing with my sound settings, both in-game and with my speakers. Didn't work. I logged onto the CD Projekt Red forum to ask for help, but no one answered.

I also tried looking for a mod that fixes this as there have been numerous ones addressing next-gen issues (like with the movement input lag). Unfortunately, I couldn't fine one. Can someone please create or send a link to a mod that fixes this audio issue?

Hello i tried many things but only this one works for me, Here: Go to your Sound settings and choose your playback device => Properties => Advanced tab => change your default format into 24 bit 96000ghz studio Quality or turn off Spatial Sound

I've already tried turning off the Spatial Sound but my SFX still sounded muffled when I hit enemies with my swords. I'll try that 24 bit 960000ghz option, though I have to redownload my game. I'll let you know whether or not it works.

I just tried playing the game with the 24 bit 96000ghz setting, same problem. The SFX of my swords hitting enemies are still compressed (at least when said foes are saying things or uttering noises). It's not my computer's fault. It's the bloody game itself every since the patch 4.00 release. If only someone would just make a mod that fixes this...

I'm the guy who posted that video a couple of years ago. So I figured out whats causing this, but no idea why. Some people suggested it was caused by the great runes slotted into the weapon, but from my testing (So far) it turns out that some swords have this audio issue. Pretty much every green crafted sword have this audio bug, while most of the orange looted swords are working fine. Get a 100% save from somewhere with a ton of swords in storage and play around a bit with both silver and steel sword enemies. I found that some orange grade looted swords still have this issue, but most of them sound normal. Haven't tested the rune theory, but my theory is a work in progress.

That's really bizarre...

I just encountered this completely randomly myself. I did have runes on my swords. But it seems to happen randomly, sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.

Doesn't matter if I'm using 24bit 192khz or 96Khz or 48Khz. It's all the same. I even tried Dolby Atmos as it now supports it natively (supposedly), except it's hot garbage. Center channel is gone lol.

I can't believe they introduce bugs like this cause it sounds REALLY bad and then will never fix it.
