Question about adding user videos

I can't seem to figure out how to add a video to someone's mod page. The author has this enabled, but I can't seem to make it work and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

When I go to the mod's videos tab and click on 'Link a new video', it just uploads the video to my profile. It doesn't appear in the mod's videos tab. I figured that maybe the author would need to approve of it first but when I asked two days later they told me they haven't gotten a notification of a new video or anything.

On the video uploading page, under Publishing, I added a link to the mod's page in the Featured Mods box, figuring that was necessary to get it to show up in the mod's video tab, but that doesn't seem to do anything either.

Maybe the answer is super obvious and I'm just not seeing it, I've had no trouble uploading screenshots to someone else's mod before, but for videos I can't get it to work.

If anyone can give me some pointers it would be much appreciated, feel free to explain it to me like I'm 5 lol.

You add a video to the media share and you can "tag" featured mods which adds it to that mod page.

I assume you mean this when you say tag? Because I did that when I first tried this but it still didn't actually add the video the mod page. I don't see any other way to tag it.

That thing has never worked for me. Nothing ever shows up, so I just manually add links to the description section instead. 😑

@Karioudo Yes, that's the one. It works a little oddly. You must enter the NAME of the mod rather than the URL. If the mod author has set it so they must approve videos, the link on their page won't appear until they have done so and there is no feedback to you at the moment to say this is what needs to happen.

That's what you're supposed to do? Ugh. I've been going about it the wrong way for years. 🫢
