DirebearCoat
So, I used Vortex to install "Address Library for SKSE plugins" I followed the path to get me the the SE version (1.5.XXX), but when I get to the actual file that is cued, it's the AE version (1.6.XXX). Vortex actually installed it, but according to the BIG RED TEXT, it's the wrong version. I uninstalled it and tried looking for it, again. Following the path, it takes me to a page that talks about there being two versions of "Address Library for SKSE plugins," but only Anniversary Edition (1.6.XXX) is installed using Vortex. Also, I can't find the most recent version of 1.5.XXX. It seems that only the Anniversary Edition is available.... Or is the Big Red Text out of date and wrong, and now there's only one version again? https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/32444 EDIT: I manually downloaded the correct version of Address Library for SKSE Plugins. For Special Edition, it's supposed to be ver. 1.5 (ver 1.6 for Anniversary Edition). If I'm going to do this manually, how do I do this? Or maybe someone can tell me how to fix the "Vortex choosing the wrong version of Address Library" problem...
7531Leonidas
OK, now that you are here, did you go back and make sure that you have the v. 2 of Address Library? You should have this file (All in one-32444-2-xxxxx - the 2 is the version number), and not anything else - in your d/l files. That is the one you want to install. DirebearCoat
Yes. That's what it says on the Zip file folder, "All in one-32444-2-XXXXX."
7531Leonidas
Then, open the archive in Zip, or 7zip, or whatever, and check the labels of the folders inside, like I did. You should find that all of the folders start with 1.5. That means it is an 'All in One' for the various versions of 1.5. If it checks out, install it. DirebearCoat
Yes. Everything inside the zip folder starts with 1.5. Now, how does one manually install it? Or how can I point Vortex at it, on my desktop, to install it? The tutorials only show how to install stuff from the website using Vortex. How do I install it, manually, so that when I start the game from Vortex, Vortex also recognizes and starts up the manually installed Address Library? 7531Leonidas
I don't know why you would manually install, but you can drag and drop the file to the appropriate place on Vortex to get it to handle the install. A manual install refers to you placing the proper files in their mod-expected places in the game's folder, or other folders, as appropriate. All of the various libraries are extracted and placed into your game's installed directory, in ...SKSE/plugins. This way, you could pick and install only the library that applies to your game version, BUT will have to also remove it manually, should you want to update the game at a later time. I would simply d/l that v.2 Address Library via the 'Mod Manager Download', and find the file in your Mods tab under Vortex, and do the automated install from there. You could use the filter at the top of that page to enter 'address', and only available files with the word will show in the display. If you have any other Address Library files installed, you should uninstall/remove them FIRST, using the drop-down arrow at the left, and select either 'Uninstall' or 'Remove' (Remove will delete the saved file from Vortex). I think that both SKSE and Vortex look for the latest files. Just use the box at the far left click on the arrow, and select 'Enable' for your new file. anjenthedog
FWIW, Vortex also has an Install From File button in the actions bar of the Mods tab. Click it, choose the file, and install. Button is the first one on the left side (orange bar above file entries) with the plus sign in the middle of its icon
scorrp10
Or you can drag-n-drop a mod archive file into the large 'Drop Files' box at the bottom of Mods tab...
DirebearCoat
Thanks, everyone, for your replies. I went with the easiest - drag and drop into box. Thanks, scorrp10! (I didn't notice that box before. Even if I did, it wouldn't have occurred to me to try that. I don't recall them talking about that box in the tutorial videos.) However, I will look at the other options, just so that I'm familiar with them. Thanks again, everyone!
