The .ini files look different in the GOG version

Recommended Posts

I seem to recall that I need to change one of the .ini files to be able to walk past the border.

I dont have the instructions handy ( anyone?)

But also check this out, the .ini files look different in the GOG version, there are new versions of them,

This is the GOG version not downloaded via GOG galaxy wizard, but via manual download.

Thoughts?

Those .baked and .base is from Vortex.

I don't use Vortex, the only files I have in that folder are the Fallout4.ini and the Fallout4Prefs.ini.

I use the Offline installer from GOG (1.10.163.0) - it doesn't even include the Custom - I have to create that.

I used the offline step by step manual installation too (thats what you mean yes?) and this is what it looks like.

I don't know the differences between the GOG and Steam version but it should be (INI) Fallout4Custom.ini >> (INI Section) [General] >> (INI key) bBorderRegionsEnabled=0, like:

[General]
bBorderRegionsEnabled=0

(You can take a look at [General] >> fTooCloseToBorderDistance too (its default value is 1024)).

Notes:

- Create Fallout4Custom.ini if it doesn't exist

- Priority of INI an setting found in both Fallout4Custom.ini and Fallout4.ini: Fallout4Custom.ini > Fallout4.ini. So, if Fallout4.ini contains "bBorderRegionsEnabled=1" too, border regions would still be turned off.

- Don't create another instance of the INI section "[General]" if it already exists because only the first one is recognized

Thank you Sir.
