Indio21
Downloading a mod with an esm plugin, or one flagged as such, MO2 will automatically place it towards the top of my LO when activated. When it does this it rearranges my LO. Not just drop plugins down X amount, it mixes things up. I thought it was a group assignment issue, but assigned the group, exit LOOT and all the related plugins are turned off. I can restore a backup and it arranges them back, but again they get turned off. Is MO2 supposed to work this way? Next, where does MO2 keep the backups made for both the mods and plugins? Thank you Edited March 8 by Indio21
Indio21
Through discussions in another forum, I have learned there maybe a problem with some of my mods showing up in MO2 with a strike through across them. The person doesn't remember the exact problem or the fix. Has anyone seen this before and know what the cause is, as I assume it is not supposed to do that. AaronOfMpls
What does MO2 say if you mouse over these crossed-out mods? There should be a description in the tooltip, explaining any MO flags or markings on it, along with other info about that plugin. Though searching around, it looks like these might be "dummy plugins" with no game data, existing only to make the game load their .bsa(s). Yes, that is exactly what it does and says and what I am told they are. Problem is person on discord downloaded one and it does not show the same on their end. Do you know what the latest version is for MO2? I run into other problems with MO2 too. I just posted this so will paste it below: I downloaded MO2 from Nexus and is showing version 2.5.0 Since downloading this about a week ago now, I also have problems downloading a mod Sometimes MO2 will just say "0.0 B/s" on the download and do nothing I have to pause the download and wait like 10 seconds then double click it to start downloading again It can take one time of doing that OR over a half dozen times to finally make it download THEN, dragging files from Overwrite is problematic too If I open Overwrite and expand a folder to see which mod it belongs to, I cannot drag and drop it I have to close overwrite and reopen it then I am able to drag and drop, but if I touch that folder before dragging it will NOT move it
Indio21
21 minutes ago, AaronOfMpls said: The real issue is MO2 keeps changing my LO upon activating a new mod OR running the game. This is what I was referring to with my OP. The pic below is my LO as I placed it. ALL the plugins at the top are assigned to groups in LOOT. For an example, the UHDAP is in the Verified Creations group which loads before the USSEP in the Fixes group. This is how I placed my LO and backed it up accordingly
Indio21
Then I run the game to test my LO and upon exit this is what MO2 does to it. Same if I add a mod

Though I'm still on MO 2.4.4 myself. I'm on Linux (not Windows) and needed some extra install wizardry to make Mod Organizer work, and the third-party installer I used for that is still pulling MO 2.4.4. Plus attempting to update to 2.5 via MO's update button borked things when I tried it, likely due to my decidedly nonstandard environment. 24 minutes ago, Indio21 said: The real issue is MO2 keeps changing my LO upon activating a new mod OR running the game. I've never had that happen, at least that I can remember. Regarding your load order, any esm-flagged mods will get automatically loaded in the top part of your (right pane) load order. It's just how the game works: ESMs come first, followed by ESPs and ESLs. I don't think you can make them load later down -- though many a mod with an .esm also has an .esp or .esl to load after some other mods. Also, which .exe are you using in the pulldown next to MO's [⏵Run] menu? Are you using "SKSE", "Skyrim Special Edition", or "Skyrim Special Edition Launcher"? If using Bethesda's launcher, it could be it is messing with your load order, though I can't be sure. How long did you say this has been going on, again? Indio21
Hmmm, looks like an update is required........ What version is others using successfully????
AaronOfMpls
Also, what order is LOOT trying to sort your mods into? If it's alphabetical, then something's gone wrong with it for sure. You might need to check if LOOT is loading updated info.

It moved an esp to the top, not just esms 3 minutes ago, AaronOfMpls said: Also, which .exe are you using in the pulldown next to MO's [⏵Run] menu? How long did you say this has been going on, again? I do know enough about modding now to NEVER launch from steam or game executables after mods are installed. I launch with skse. I just moved over to MO2 about a week ago maybe now, so since I installed it. I did a full clean install, added tools such as Bethini, xedit, etc. and started putting my build back together after moving from vortex.
