What mod is the file oltaddmorelatests.esp for?

Recommended Posts

Don't know if this is the right section for this, but I've been trying to figure out what this mod is all day.

I had to clear the xbox cache to get rid of those ghosts of mods taking up storage space, only to realise my load order list was saved on my old phone...

I downloaded my save from the cloud, and was able to use that to find all the mods from my load order... Except this one... And its driving me crazy. I just can't figure out what it is. Can anyone here shed any light on the problem? Reddit has failed so far. I know there's an ocean of mods out there, but surely someone can help me solve this puzzle.

I haven't a clue, mate. But it may help others help you if you provide some relevant information, specifically the game in which this elusive mod relates to and anything else you can think of that may be useful. Posting the load order may help, as well. Although I don't see how but you never know. Maybe it will serve as a catalyst to the person who has a similar load order and they'll say, 'Hey, I remember that mod!'

As an aside, that is a very unusual file name. On a whim, I tried to search Nexus for it but netted no results.

Good luck though.

@ReverantSpark And checking DuckDuckGo, Google, and Bing, the only results I get for "oltaddmorelatests.esp" (with quotes) are an r/skyrimmods post from earlier today (yours, maybe?) asking the same "what is this mod" question.  So yah, I'm suspecting something console-exclusive too, if you say this was on your xbox.

If you don't get any results here in the general forums, you could try asking in Game Communities > Skyrim > Skyrim VR and Consoles above -- though you'll have to click Join Community there to post.

(And the only game console I have is an old Atari 2600, so I am definitely not up on the xbox modding scene, unfortunately.)

Sorry man, my bad. Its for skyrim on the xbox.

As for my load order... In this situation I'm constantly having to wipe and reinstall it as I try mods that could be it. Long story short, on xbox, theres a 5gb load order limit. Delete a mod, and the space isn't actually freed up. So eventually you run out of room to install things even if it says you have room. Until you wipe your skyrim data/cache and start from scratch. What I can say is it seems to be placed at the top of the load order in the overhauls section. There's the unofficial patch, campfire, kingdom overhaul (a weapon and armor overhaul with a few extra bits added to it,) the unidentified mod in question, then camping extended. So maybe the "O" at the beginning stands for overhaul. I'm gonna search that word and see if I come up with any overhaul mods that have words beginning with "L" and "T" in the name. (No hits yet.)

I may be able to create a list of the full organised load order by the end of the day. Just stumbled across a feature showing the actual load order of a save, but it only shows you part of it. Install one of those mods and it frees up a line to show you the next mod in the list.

Honestly, I've been wondering if I actually have ADHD the past week or so. Cause something like dealing with a load order of 100+ mods seems to be a lot for me. I keep just noping out overwhelmed by it shortly after making a little headway. I used to have it as a list on my old phone which made it easier to deal with. Just download the list in order and everything is properly organised. Even then it took me some willpower to get through the list in one go.

This load order is actually one I've curated over the space of... Gotta be well over 5 years now. I've always used the same one, making small tweaks as I went. It's a realistic vampire oriented build with graphical improvements, more realistic wetaher and environmental aspects like frostfall etc. And using live another life I think its called. No being forced to start the main story, but an open sandbox world, with more random and dynamic world events like nord/imperial armies clashing in the wilds. I always liked the idea of starting as a newly turned vampire and then just finding my way in the world. Odd noticeboard jobs here and there, hunting (man and beast,) finding, rising up through, and conquering the vampire faction in skyrim (dawnguard)...

Once I get the load order properly rebuilt I'll make a new written list, on paper this time, and then I'll share it here in case you want to give it a try and/or critique my load order lol

Hmm, parsing that mod name again, maybe OLT is a creator name/initials,* or an abbreviation for another mod it extends.  Do either of those seem familiar?

* Mods I've created have their filenames start with aom_ so I can find them easily.  Ditto any objects/NPCs/etc added by my mods; their internal form names start with AOM or AoM, to find them more easily in the CK or the console.

That sounds tedious albeit necessary given your situation. However, it sounds like you've at least narrowed the search a bit by determining that it's possibly an overhaul mod. Decoding that puzzle of a file name, getting into the head of the mod's creator, seems to be key though. At a glance, it looks like it was named arbitrarily but it's not. You were thinking the same as me. It seems to be an acronym for a sentence or phrase describing the mod.

Did you download all of your mods here? The reason I ask is, I play Morrowind so I'm unfamiliar with the Skyrim scene. With Morrowind, there were a few modding websites that are now defunct, Morrowind Modding History and Fliggerty's, and I used to dip into those for a mod here and there. Some of those mods are now finding their way to Nexus but if I'm ever in a similar situation as you, it would be considerably more difficult to locate and get that mod back. If I had downloaded all of my mods here, then at least I could feel content and certain that the mod is or was on Nexus somewhere.

For what it's worth, you play Skyrim similar to how I play Morrowind. I've only completed the main quest once, on my initial playthrough. Ever since I found a mod that took that out of the equation, I've been curating my own custom load order with similar features; new quests, random meetings with rogue bandits, new land masses.

Anyways, I'll say it again... Good luck.

BWAHAHA! GUESS WHO FOUND A LIST OF AN OLDER VERSION OF THIS LOAD ORDER!

Yup, solved it. Found an old list of a previous iteration of this load order. There are a few changes to it, but more importantly, at the top of the list is one mod that was unaccounted for in my latest "current" version... "Ugh. Mods manager cap."

With the old xbox mod menu interface, it would limit the amount of mods displayed in each category. So if you went into the "my library" category, if you had saved more than the limit, some mods wouldn't show. This mod just removed that limit. It's redundant now with the new interface. But I downloaded and enabled it, and no longer get the message "this save is dependent on oltaddmorlatests.esp"

Problem solved 🙂

You're welcome. No worries though. I really had nothing better to do to be honest.
