Senkushi
Hey everyone, I've got a dumb game problem I was hoping I could get help solving. I went and killed Benny and House before acquiring access to the Lucky 38's Presidential Suite, and now the only way I can get there is to teleport via console commands. I want to be able to send my companions there, and now that I have Yes Man installed I *think* he'd give me access to said suite if I asked/ordered him to, so I'm not seeing any reason why I shouldn't have access to it. SO, I've downloaded a mod in attempt to fix it, "Lucky 38 Map marker and Penthouse Shortcut", but it doesn't fix it because my ability to read properly lapsed for the whole time I was installing the mod as it's a PENTHOUSE shortcut and not a PRESIDENTIAL SUITE shortcut. I'd like to change that, just make the cell it teleports you to the suite and not the penthouse but I have zero idea how. Do I use G.E.C.K.? FNVEdit? Something else entirely? Senkushi
As I've been working on it I've discovered; It's a G.E.C.K. thing. Trying to change it in FNVEdit just breaks it, but my issue now is that it kills me whenever I use the hatch going to the suite. Absolutely ZERO idea as to what's causing that, however. Paused time right when it happened, free cammed with all the debug stuff going to see if there was anything and I couldn't see a thing. Fix one thing, cause another. Is this the game killing me cus it knows I exited thru a door I shouldn't have? Some clipping bug?
JimboUK
Make sure that Victor is dead, if he is I would load a save from before you killed House and Benny and make sure you speak to House before doing anything. The problem with using the console to fix problems is that it can cause even more problems down the line, commands like coc, moveto and placemeat can cause the player to miss triggers meaning events aren't triggered or they're triggered in the wrong order. Victor is either dead or missing because I can't find him anywhere. I've already installed Yes Man into the mainframe and I've done a LOT since doing killing Benny n House, so loading a save (that doesn't exist anyway because my 'manual saving into new slot' discipline is awful) isn't an option either. At this point, I feel as if those console commands would help me. Teleporting to the Suite 22 cell using coc doesn't kill me like using the modified hatch from the mod does. Would there be console commands that might unlock the suite from the elevator door by modifying the door object via console? Maybe the ID for the elevator door with more options is different, I don't know.
Senkushi
Alrighty, so I figured out AN issue: the DoorMarker for the destination for this modified hatch in Suite 22 is ALL the way in the middle of gray space, I do recognize it as where I would be if I used the hatch with noclip enabled. For some reason, I can't move it like I can other DoorMarker objects in the scene. I have a feeling that if I move it into the right place, my issue will be fixed. Any ideas? Welp, re-selecting the door as a reference for the teleport corrected the DoorMarker position so it's not in gray space anymore, still can't move it but it's at least INSIDE and I'm satisfied with that as a conclusion here. Maybe someone can make a quest fix that enables the Presidential Suite floor on the elevator after installing Yes Man into the mainframe or something. Maybe I'll do that. anyway.
