idea for organic traps: Radiation-Sarlac plants

Radiation-sarlac plants are plants that have 2 venus flytrap like mouths that grow in areas of high radiation. Discolored an fleshy yellow with red veins and an light-like lure, they can't be killed, but can be forced to throw up prey if they deal enough damage to its stomach.

It is made of 4 parts and 1 tunnel.

An lure light that looks like the fauna of far harbor, 2 lips which act as one entity, and an stomach.

When an enemy, or player, walks over it, it will pulsate its lips for 10 seconds. If the player doesn't move then they part and then close, forcing the enemy / player down the trap into the stomach. The stomach is a scripted entity that emanates 10 rads an second in 10 seconds, 20 rads a second in 20 seconds, 40 rads a second in 30 seconds, 80 rads a second in 40 seconds, 170 rads a second in 50 seconds, and 250,000,000,000 rads in 60 seconds along with a rising instakill firepool (think the stuff from saugus fireworks) that makes the entities body disappear when it fills up tinted an yellowish green (This 60 second kill firepool is so that it doesn't get permanently stuck with radiation absorbing enemies in it, such as ghouls, and so that players with player cheat equipment can still be irradiated if they let 60 seconds pass, which if you let 60 seconds pass you are truly testing the things patience).

An entity can be thrown up from the trap by wailing on the stomach part, which is a part underneath the ground that clips.

I feel it's not enough to have things like deathclaws in radiation filled zones to be a danger, since their danger was dumbed down even on survival difficulty. I feel if creatures evolved, some fauna in the most irradiated areas also should of evolved to be just as hostile.

Make concept art. I don't know exactly what this plant should look like. Does he have tentacles? Without tentacles it will be a little dreary. 😆 Seriously, it's very difficult to make a complex trap with a set of animations. Because it requires hat2014, for which there are no scripts, bones, documentation or anything at all. In general, it is very difficult to collect a new creature. It's easy to make a trap with just one animation. Accordingly, gamebryo for a trap, havok for a victim. It's easy to make a bunch of animations for aaf. Like a flower, a predator mocks its unfortunate victim. That's why tentacles are necessary. 🙂

  • 2 weeks later...

There are tendrils on the inside that only eemerge to grab nearby prey. The Sarlacc of Star Wars is the basic idea, although the Sandtrap beast of Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome would be a consideration as well (The younger stages of the Sarlacc, really)
