InDarkestNight
Replacers are fine I know. You only have issues if you remove things with esps or scripts. However, right now I have a mod that's really getting on my nerves. I decided to play with Provincial Courier Service again, because I finally got fed up with the courier randomly freezing me all the bloody time. I didn't use it for long in the past because I kept forgetting to go check my mail. However, playing with it for a while, I've found it does more harm than good. For some reason, no matter how I set it in the mcm, the courier still behaves as 'normal'. Well, there is a difference: HE CAN AMBUSH ME ANYWHERE EVEN IN INTERIOR CELLS THAT HE'S NOT SUPPOSED TO ACCESS. So that mod's actually making things worse. Also, I did go to his house to try and get my mail, but for some reason he was nowhere to be found. Turns out, he was in Jorrvaskr waiting to ambush me. Wtf? Teach me for using one of Arthmoor's mods. I am not willing to start all over again. I'm only level 8, but I've re-played the beginning of m,y playthrough probably over a dozen times over the past 2 weeks. I am sick of playing the same quests over and over again. I want to remove this mod and fix my game so I don't have to start all over again for the upteenth time. Is there anyway I can do this? Or is my playthrough completely ubsalvageable now? Why has no one else ever tried to fix the courier, by far the most irritating npc in the entire game? And why do mod authors keep using them to start their stupid mod quests? HE ALREADY HARRASSES YOU FAR TOO MUCH IN AN UNMODDED GAME. So yeah, f*#@ provincial courier service. Is there anyway I can get rid of this thing? Or is it hopeless? InDarkestNight
Upon messing around with the mod, it turns out you CAN'T HAVE THE MAIL DELIVERED TO A HOME YOU DON'T OWN. So that means, I can't have it delivered to proudspire so I can have it delivered close to my mod home? Wow what a shitty mod. Shouldn't have expected any better from a shitty mod author who openly believes that only he has the right to make mods. So he rigged his mod in a way to maximize incompatibility? Why not just have generic mailboxes you can always use? That's what I thought it did! Worthless shitty mod. Guess I also need to stop using the unofficial patch now, along with alternate start (never saw another that I liked). Worthless mod by a cheap mod author. Well, you can try something like Save Game Script Cleaner or ReSaver to remove any orphaned references left by it. But there are no guarantees. 1 hour ago, InDarkestNight said: Guess I also need to stop using the unofficial patch now, along with alternate start I wouldn't recommend dropping the Unofficial Patch, unless you want to have back a bunch of the many, many bugs it fixes. (Plus Arthmoor is hardly the only contributor; quite a few people are on the Unofficial Patch Project Team.) And if you're really disenchanted with Alternate Start - Live Another Life now, there are always alternatives like Random Alternate Start, Skyrim Unbound, or Realm of Lorkhan. 1 hour ago, InDarkestNight said: Worthless mod by a cheap mod author. I don't agree with everything Arthmoor does, myself. Personally I wish he and the rest of the patch team kept an old version or two of the USSEP visible for the SE downgrade folks, even if that version was never going to be updated again, much like the LE patch. (And even if I have zero plans to downgrade my SE.) And I do miss having most of his mods on the Nexus, especially his Oldrim ones. AFK Mods isn't quite as easy to navigate as Nexus Mods, and MO2 can't see when updates are posted there. But I still like most of his mods I've tried. Been using Cutting Room Floor for ages, and Keld-Nar has grown on me more recently. And I've enjoyed AS-LAL since I first downloaded it more than a decade ago; I'd have never started Andil of Alinor's story without it. And I'd probably use his Oakwood too (at least if it had an LE version, or if I'd backported it to LE) if I hadn't already fallen in love with ThirteenOranges' Oakwood first.* * ThirteenOranges' Oakwood is literally one of the first Skyrim mods I ever downloaded, even before I really started discovering and exploring the Nexus.
