"Failed to Set Game Mode"

I'm trying to see if there is a way to fix this error without completely uninstalling my game and losing all my saves. I was able to play my modded Skyrim Special Edition just fine a couple of days ago, then I updated my Vortex and I'm getting the error "Failed to Set Game Mode". I'm unsure why I'm getting this as the game is still installed and the file in question still exists (please refer to attached photo). I've been struggling to find a solution that just gives that folder permission to Vortex again?
Please let me know if there is anythin I can do to correct this besides uninstalling the game and reinstalling all the mods I had.

Greetings!
Sorry that you're having trouble.

You should be able to correct this by adjusting the path to the game. Click on Games from the left tree, then click the vertical ellipses in the top right corner of Skyrim SE. Choose "Manually Set Location".

For you, this should read: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Skyrim Special Edition   ... (Remove the \Data from the game path)
Save.

Hopefully this will correct your issue. Good luck!
