Rock really rocks! (check out that aliteration!)

Anywho, rap is...um...well...i don't like it. It's too poppy and sweary and flagrant. While rock can be this as well, a lot of it is not, which makes for good rock.

What the above statement proved is that rock and rap are the same thing, but set to a different rythm and style. whether one is better or not depends on opinion, and arguing an opinion where all points are based on opinion is futile. Think about it.

btw if you know any rappers/crews in your country that you found good plz post their name..

its hard to find good stuff...

In my country? Are you kidding? There's no real rap at all (I'm not complaining), no real rock and a heavy load of poor pop. Oh yeah, and one decent metal band...

Well, I only listen to rock, like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, but there are some really braindead rockbands like Spinal Tap, I think they have the worst lyrics ever.

Spinal Tap, Big Bottom

The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin'

That's what I said

The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand

Or so I have read

My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo

I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo

Big bottom, big bottom

Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em

Big bottom drive me out of my mind

How could I leave this behind?

People like rock because it's primitive yet it's so modern.

The chords, the drums, and some guy screaming, it just invokes that caveman (or cavewoman) within to prepare himself for the hunt/war ahead. The lyrics do rhyme but in a way that doen't involve making up your own words. They often make sense too, but when they don't, they still make sense because they're not meant to make sense, and the artist intends for you to find your own meanings in the words. The messages are a rant against the injustice of society and the unfairness of the world. They are Rebels. They are controversial.

THEY'RE FRIGGIN' AWESOME!!!!

Now rap........ I can't just relate. Not just because I'm white, but also because I have a fairly good life and don't live in the Ghettos. (Note: 'Ghetto' is a medival term. It's meaning hasn't changed a bit, and was reintroduced to the Jews by Hitler)

I do, however, frequently feel unloved by those whom I want it from.(women) This lets me relate to the heartbreakers and romantic ballads. Also, the MAN gets hard on me, making me feel sorry for those who must suffer his Wrath daily, so I can relate to Political feuds.

But that's just me

oh rock definatly, i just love the sound of it (tho' i hate heavy metal  )

but i HATE rap, it all bull too me, i hate it all!!!!!!, (but i hate country music more than rap  )

and what are people saying that most rock doesn't have meaning? um ever heard of bad religion?

tho they usually take the piss on politics and religion.

KISS lyrics sought of mean something, but its all lyrics about sex ;)

Some Scorpion songs have meaning.

tsk Dark0ne, Tenacious D's lyrics arent soposed to mean something, you should know better, there just meant to be funny. you diddnt know?

I like rock the best. Some of the new rock though sometimes doesn't make sense. I am more of a classic rock fan. Also some of the music that comes out today, i just can't relate to.

The only thing good about rap music is that you can dance to it.

yeah i toatal relate, i can't handle the modern day pop cr@p, the best music (rock) came out in the 70's and 80's y'know jimi hendrix, scorpions, the who, led zeplin, KISS, Queen, y'konw the ones i mean.

(i know this may sound weird from a 13yr old, but thats when all the best rock was about)

I said rock, only cuz I ABSOLUTELY hate that "c"rap rubbish (I hope all rappers would die painful, torturous deaths), and only cuz that was the only other option. But truthfully, I listen to trance. Now THAT's the "smart man's" music (most people who listen to trance generally have higher IQs than people who listen to other forms of music, of which rap IS NOT included, since it IS NOT music at all). However, I also enjoy a good bit of "Thunderstruck", "Sweet Child of Mine", and "Crazy Train" every now and again - gotta love those classics :D ! Anyway, that's my two cents.
