marineboy22
Hey all, I am trying to use F04edit with the PC gamepass version of Fallout 4. I realize that there's a lot less modding support on this version and not being able to use F4SE locks me out of a lot of S tier mods. Anyways, is it possible to change the data path of F04edit? I followed the instructions in this thread exactly How do I change the FO4Edit Data Path? - Creation Kit and Modders - Nexus Mods Forums and it only updated the "using ini" section, and the data path is still blank. Could anyone point me in the right direction or is what I'm trying to do not possible? I copied this in and ended up with what is shown in the screenshot. Did it follow the wrong path? I don't really know or understand much about onedrive [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout4] "Installed Path"="C:\XboxGames\Fallout 4 (PC)" Edited June 2 by marineboy22
fraquar
Why would the path to where the game is installed matter? I use the GOG version - and a version of FO4Edit 4.0.4 (2021) - before the GOG version (2023) was even released. Install it in C:\Installed Games\Bethesda\FO4. Finds it just fine. ------- Ugh, just looked at that image again - OneDrive. Edited June 2 by fraquar

subaverage
The ini is normally here: C:\Users\yourname\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.ini: In your case the path points towards Onedrive. There the savegames and the ini-files should not be stored. Here is a little tutorial to disable/ uninstall Onedrive and let Fallout 4 create the default folder with the inis again. The using scripts path is where the FO4Edit folder is. I would save it on my harddrive. It seems the FO4Edit finds the Steam version of FO4 itself, but you have another version and installation path. I don't know whether it helps and never tested myself, but from the description of FO4Edit you can use a command line switch to point to the game path. Looking like this: "-D:<path> [Specify a Data Directory]". I believe you will have to do this in the command tool. And type in something like that (in case you have the FO4Edit folder on C:): C:\yourpath to FO4Edit\FO4Edit.exe -D:<path to your Fallout 4 installation folder\data>. Maybe that's all nonsense, but that's how I would understand it. Here you find some more information. https://tes5edit.github.io/docs/2-overview.html
WastelandProject
One Drive is NOT a save destination. One Drives COPIES files from a location to save them in a cloud. By default it automatically copies anything in the default user folder, documents, saved games, pictures, etc. In other words it doesn't control anything, it is just copying files, It was just an aggressive but poorly executed cloud save program. Unistalled after copying (literally copy and paste) the saves in the F4 game folder into documents. Never had any more problems since then. fallout 4 saves OneDrive :: Fallout 4 Discussioni generali (steamcommunity.com) Edited June 28 by WastelandProject
