Crypto217
Greetings. I am requesting help from scratch to be able to install Toolset in 2024. I would be very grateful if someone with experience on the subject could advise me, since when I manage to solve an error, another 10 appear. This guide to installing SQL server 2022 instead of the old one might be useful https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5904 (used it last year to reinstall everything). Also, this DAToolset Wiki has some info on installation and usage http://www.datoolset.net/wiki/Getting_Started.
OldTownKiller
I was losing my mind trying to figure out how to get this Toolset to work but I finally got it!! If you look up SQL 2005 Express 32-bit download you should come a website (not Microsoft) that has a torrent of it available. Maybe you could find a regular download link if you dig around some more but I used that torrent (of course please make sure you're using a VPN that supports P2P connection if you are torrenting). Afterward I was able to install SQL 2005 Express. When getting to the installation screen, choose Mixed mode/authentification. Finally, in my root folder for Dragon Age Origins (wherever you installed the game) you should see a file called "regkey-switch.cmd". You need to copy this file and paste it into where the "BioWare" > Dragon Age folder for DAO is on your computer (assumiing you are familiar with this since you are trying to get Toolset and modding). For me, it was in C:\Users\(your user)\OneDrive\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age. Your's may not be in OneDrive and simply in Documents. But after you paste the regkey-switch.cmd into this location, run it as administrator and the command prompt should say the original path was found. DONT DELETE IT. Exit the comman prompt and run the DragonAgeToolset1.01Setup.exe again. Now it should locate the game and you'll be able to download the Toolset finally. This is what worked for me at least. Hope it is of help!!

I forgot to mention you'll also need to download SQL Server Management Studio before being able to access the Toolset.
OldTownKiller
Sorry for multiple replies, I got excited and ahead of myself thinking it was all fixed. Not quite! First time I ran Toolset it said the configuration was not correct and to run the ConfigurationToolset.exe to fix the settings. I found it in the root file under Tools here. Will update if I have anymore problems.
LaurellaBellaBean
Hi. Did you get the executable for Toolset here? I'm very new to Toolset, so it's possible there are problems with the install and I just haven't encountered any yet, and it was a while ago when I installed Toolset but it seems like the executable I linked had all of the necessary files (the SQL files, etc.) as part of the install. I'm on Windows 10, by the way. If you're having a ton of trouble installing Toolset, perhaps you could try uninstalling Toolset, and get rid of any files/folders associated with it so that your computer is clean of all traces of the app, restart your computer, and install using the file I linked. Again, I think the file I linked has all of the necessary redistributables already bundled with it.
