rontam2
How to add DLC after original downloading game.
363rdChemicalCompany
Depends where you got it from. The most common source of the game is Steam. On Steam you can buy the DLCs as addtions. Some of whicha re quite cheap. The best one is Far Harbor in my ( and many others) opinion, its basically a work of art. The other DLCs are often used to provide assests for mods though and many mods will require all DLCs tp be present.
DjinnKiller
Many mods require all DLCs, the complete game (as @363rdChemicalCompany) states. FO4 is soon to be a 10yrs old game so you can buy the whole shebang pretty cheap. As for game quality, the ONLY DLC worth playing is Far Harbor...in my very humble opinion.
fraquar
Most mods don't require anything but the base game - Fallout4.ESM In my load order I have just 3 mods that require the whole slam - UFO4P, PRP, Synthesis (for custom LOD). That's it. About double that require some of the DLC content - the rest just need the Fallout4.ESM and nothing else.
