Broken Steel Installed But Game Finishes

Hi

 

I've trawled the internet to try and find a solution to this issue but with no success.

 

I've downloaded the BS DLC from GFWL and installed it, then copied the files into the correct folders in the Fallout3/Data folder.

 

When in game I get the message that the DLC is installed and max level is raised to 30. However when I complete the Project Purity quest by sacrificing my character I get the standard ending movie, followed by the credits and the main menu. No two weeks later and no extra content, just the game ending.

 

I don't have a free play mod installed but I do have an increased max level mod and slower leveling. Could they be causing an issue?

 

I'm very frustrated and after returning to FO3 after a month off I'm losing patience with this game and its instability (but I can't help loving it all the same!). Any help is much appreciated, I can provide a list of my active mods tonight if needed.

Edit: forgot to mention I'm patched to 1.6 and have had Op Anchorage installed fine for months.

A max level mod would almost certainly conflict with BS (I think).

i tried to talk Fawkes into starting the purifier, but he gives me the same answerhe gives without broken arrow installed.

 

i have a whole bunch of mods running (FOOK, MMM and others) but no increased max level mod. i only use the slower levelling mod.

 

i think ill try it without the slower levelling mod, but i cant imagine that this would fix the problem.

 

 

EDIT: I just got an idea... I checked the savegame i had when i installed broken steel, and the quest take it back was active, because i hat the task to go to the citadel. Maybe thats the problem?

It's more likely your mods. Try it without the mods enabled.

i had this issue with Fawkes also.

 

it was a conflict with a mod that altered companion recruitment and Fawkes didn't agree with it (both in Project Purity and before at the Raven's Rock exit).

 

turning this off just for the endscene allowed me to continue to "two weeks later" rather than end the game.

I don't think it's your save game. I was able to start from my save Right out of Project purity, and go directly into it. I had to redo a few times, because I got the bug where Elder Lyons get stuck outside.

Check that you have the newest version of your mods. If you do, Make sure you know if they're compatible with Broken Steel. If the mods edit Project Purity, or what happens after you go inside, It could potentially break BS

Broken Steel Race Fix Mod solved the problem for me. Apparently some mods inadvertantly revert the ending movies script back to vanilla FO3 rather than the BS version. Put this mod last in your load order and see if it helps.
