jasperdegraaf
Guys, im at a loss. Ive bought a new pc last year august, and last week I bought skyrim on steam, ( 4th time across 3 platforms, thanks Todd ) and started doing some modding with MO2. Along the way, after installing some mods I wanted to check how the game looked and sadly CTR while walking for a few meters after Helgen ( I chose vanilla start in Alternate life) This crash happened to me 3 of 4 times there, and I just now started in Windhelm to see if it persisted... No trouble there at first, leaving the gate aaaand.. crash to reboot.. The initial new game in Helgen, Alduin attacked... fire, rocks, chaos, everything smooth as butter... extremely high fps for my taste as I was a console peasant at first.. . but once outside in the world the entire pc crashes. What could it be???? I dont have the impression that the pc gets too hot or anything. Now, if tried to google ofcourse, and im seeing many solutions that it might be the PSU? Ive played starfield last year for many hours at a time, no sign of pc overheating or stuttering... not a single hint. This is my first real modding attempt, ever... so go easy on me. Here are my specs: I hope this sum up makes sense in a way, I really hope someone can help me... im desperate and im starting to consider dusting of my old ps4 again... * insert emoticon with extreme self pity* Processor Intel® Core™ i9-12900F, 16C (8P + 8E) / 24T, Max Turbo up to 5.6GHz, P-core 2.4 / 5.0GHz, E-core 1.8 / 3.8GHz, 30MB Graphics NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3070 8GB GDDR6 Chipset Intel® B660 Chipset Memory 2x 16GB UDIMM ARMOR DDR5-4800 Memory Slots Four DDR5 UDIMM slots, dual-channel capable Max Memory Up to 128GB DDR5-4800 Storage 1TB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe® 4.0x4 NVMe® 500W 85% Here is my modlist so far in the attachment. modlist CSV.txt
TurntLogic
Check if the crashing persists on a new character without any mods installed. If the crashing continues, you may have a hardware issue. You can try reinstalling GPU drivers and monitoring GPU/ PSU usage to see what happens. It could also be a corrupted game or mod file. You can try deleting your Skyrim INI's and verifying the game files. You can also start a binary search of your mod list to find the culprit. lykosfx
Oi! Bom dia! Só por curiosidade… A sua fonte de alimentação é de 500W? Obrigado pela sua atenção. --- Hey! Good morning! scorrp10
If PSU is only 500W, it could well be the culprit. According to Newegg PSU calculator, the recommended wattage for your specs is 600-700W. The real question is its power rail distribution. Yes, you may have played Starfield a lot, but those newer engines tend to be a lot more efficient on hardware. On my PC (Core i7-11700K, 64GB DDR4, RTX 3800Ti, custom watercooled) I am using a Seasonic Prime 1300W PSU. Granted, it is a bit overkill, but for your configuration I would recommend getting something in 850W range, such as Seasonic Focus GM-850 Platinum or Corsair RM850x. I might in the ( near ) future, for now I have uninstalled ENB and it doesnt seem to crash anymore... ive now run around in the open world for about 5 minutes... lets see if it runs stable for a few hours, ill report when it crashes again. jasperdegraaf
So yes, strangely enough it now runs stable and super smooth, ive deleted ENB but afterwards installed nearly all Cathedral mods there are.. The game looks way better and no crashes. Is ENB thát tough on the system that it can cause the power supply to be insufficient, or was perhaps something else the culprit
scorrp10
ENB most likely causes video card to draw a fair bit more power.
