Have the "switch" control a quest variable, and have the door and any interaction only show once that variable has been changed. laclongquan's Mick and Ralph idea is great if you actually want to change the physical appearance of the room, but if you just want the door/teleport spell to be activated after you switch it on, you can really simplify things.
