callmechanka
Hi PC Old Gen ugrids 9 no mods affecting game world/graphics/foliage or like that i m exhausted fallout 4 popping objects out of nowhere made me miserable then i found solution, increase ugrids! worked like a charm... but... things like cars render far away just as they should but still there are only small objects (like on photo) barrels, containers, crates, some streetlight that pop out 10m away from my character... is there any option to change ini file so the can show up further away? i tried to find solution and many people told me to install LOD improvement mod. Are LOD really gonna help for such small objects? plz help Edited July 4 by callmechanka
363rdChemicalCompany
The better your LOD the less issues you will ave with stuff shoing up close to you. Of coruse the higher LOD puts more of a load on the system. Your picture did ont really showcase the problem to me though...

RoNin1971
Well, it does sound like something purely LOD based. As that's what determines at what distance stuff pops-up & when to switch to the next level. You can set the distance for various things within the fallout4prefs.ini file. Like: [LOD] fLODFadeOutMultSkyCell=1.0000 fLODFadeOutMultObjects=18.0000 fLODFadeOutMultItems=10.0000 fLODFadeOutMultActors=15.0000 Â

callmechanka
and why then those objects were not influenced by ugrids while other objects did? Â

RoNin1971
I did some quick experiments, but it couldn't get a barrel to fade any later as it did (which is at quite a distance though), by altering a bunch of settings. So I can't tell you which setting you need. Got uGrids set to 13 myself, and all the fades etc. are roughly set 4x the default (ultra settings). Since I don't like things popping up to close either. fraquar
Fallout 4 wasn't designed with long-range weapons in mind. Ugrids 5 (default), about the max range you can trigger an enemy to spawn is about 200 yards.  Ugrids 7 extends it a little bit - but not much.   There is literally no point to any of the extended long range weapons in Fallout 4 - you simply can't get the enemy to spawn that far away - without literally breaking your game. South8028
I don’t remember the exact details... But in ck you can put a flag on any object on the map, IsLod (or something like that, I don’t remember the exact name), and this object will be displayed at any distance. Objects with this flag do not depend on uGridsToLoad and are always visible and at any distance. This was of interest to me because it excludes not only static objects from uGridsToLoad, but also animations. All animations with this flag are also played at any distance. Edited July 5 by South8028
