JohnToma
Hello everyone! I'm back to Skyrim SE AE after 1 year. Of course, everything was outdated so after updating all the SKSE64 files i start the game and here surprise, surprise, none of the mods are loaded. I tried to use NMM 0.87.0 but to no avail as it's link with the game seems to be broken. I tried to load the mods through the game using the Creations UI. It is possible even if some mods are not even listed but see below: I have 2 situations: - I can't start a new game if any mod is loaded (i can see the smoke animation but the "New Game"menu is not showing up) - if i start a new game with zero mods the thing is working but if i save after the opening scene, exit to main menu, load the simplest mod and load again my saved game, the camera becomes completely stuck and i can't move at all. Now apparently I have 2 options: 1) Reinstall the game from scratch and try to mod 1 by 1, which will take ages and i don't think i have the time to do it. Also, no guarantee that the mods will work. 2) Completely delete the game and forget about it (playing without non-Bethesda mods is not an option for me) Is there any other solution to this issue? Thank you in advance. And in the end a question for Bethesda: WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO WITH YOUR OWN GAME?
7531Leonidas
Welcome to Beth update nightmares! Starting with v. 1.6.1130, they reworked some basic code that completely ruins some earlier SKSE-based mods. There is a nexus.wiki link to help show those mod updates that are available, see ( https://modding.wiki/en/skyrim/users/skse-plugins ). Additionally, there are several threads in the Skyrim SE forum that might help, but in Vortex, I think. Here is one -
7531Leonidas
One more thing - it is not a good idea to use the Creations UI to manage mods if you are using or plan to use a mod manager - it will almost certainly mess with your load order.
JohnToma
Thank you very much for your answer. I checked those pages and applied the EngineFixes.toml fix, to no avail. I mean, i can play for few minutes with some mods loaded (but not all of them!) and then the camera becomes again stuck and the game unplayable. I guess I'm done with Skyrim and I'll remove the game from my HDD as I'm sick of all this Bethesda s#*!. For so many years Skyrim was an excellent modable game, sadly not anymore thanks to these eggheads and their "brilliant" ideas. (and btw... F*** YOU BETHESDA!) If I remember right, the .toml fix isn't needed anymore since April, when Engine Fixes itself was updated. The fix itself even says, Quote These changes are NOT needed with SSE Engine Fixes v6.2: EnableAchievementsWithMods = false SaveAddedSoundCategories = true (was originally set to false, testing has shown that this doesn't need to be turned off) SaveScreenshots = false That said, it's understandable if you need a break from messing with it.
