MikeCobalt
Hey everybody, I believe this is a bad question with no real answer, but I thought I'd at least try before doing anything big. My computer doesn't have much time left and I do have a replacement I'm trying to figure a method to Transfer my current SkyrimSE playthrough using MO2 from this PC to the next and hopefully not have to start a new playthrough. Steam does keep records from one save to the next and I can stock up the new "Mods Folder" (MO2) with the same mods as this I'm just not sure that would work, never tried before. MO2 seems alot more complicated and therefor finicky then the original Mod Organizer.
radiusrsatti
nope, it's actually a really simple process... copy your Steam installation directory to a backup drive (on the assumption you've installed anything into it, or made any changes to it, such as cleaning mods, adding SKSE plugins, ENB and the such... if it's a complete bare bones install, this copy is not necessary), copy your MO2 installation to a backup location, and copy your Mods folder to a backup location (on the assumption it is NOT located inside your MO2 directory)... your saves and settings should be included in your Mods folder, in your profile directory, unless you've made changes to the default directories... when you get the new PC, install Steam, Skyrim, and MO2 to the same locations you have them now (doesn't have to be, but makes it easier)... do the initial run of skyrim to get the inis generated then copy and replace all three directories in their original locations... when you start MO2, everything should be exactly as you left it... I have everything installed to a non-bootable drive for just this reason
MikeCobalt
Â Thanks. This is something that's been haunting me for a while now. After the update late last year I didn't want to lose another SE character and this one is just starting to get their bearings straight. I'll read this a few times, copy paste it and try later to see if I can get this.
AaronOfMpls
@MikeCobalt And if you have any saves in Skyrim's default location of ...\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\Saves\, then copy those over too. (MO2 profiles can save there instead of their own save folder, depending on their settings.)
