The issue with the wildlife has been interesting, to say the least. In the early days, chickens reported crimes and that hawk flying overhead alerted the entire bandit camp of your exact location. That's fixed by several means these days, thank goodness, but hostility levels, weird cooperation between competitive predator species, and illogical coordination remain factors, especially with critter-adding mods like Animallica.

 

There are mods that dive into the root systems of the game and add new base functions; it's time to truly set up a sensible ecology for Skyrim's many creatures (modded and otherwise) to live in.
