Fallout 4 F4SE incorrect version somehow?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, me again

I want to get back into Fallout 4 and maybe actually finish the game this time around, lol. Running into a really odd issue with trying to get FO4 to run with F4SE, so at the moment I cannot get the game to launch at all if I try to run it with F4SE.

Basically I'm getting told the version of F4SE I just downloaded and installed isn't the correct version for this game, the error pops up and states my Runtime is 1.10.163 and my F4SE is 0.6.17. However, I just freshly download this F4SE from the silverlock site and according to the site I have the option of downloading F4SE 0.6.23 for FO4 runtime 1.10.163 or I could get F4SE 0.7.2 for FO4 runtime 1.10.984.

I have tried both versions and have gone through the installing it through NMM and manually, but when I try to try to launch F4SE it seems to think its only version 0.6.17. Has anyone encountered this or know the fix for it?

NMM doesn't really understand what to do with script extenders. Best bet is manual install..... Might wanna delete the existing files in the game install folder, (and uninstall any versions you have tried thru NMM) Copy the files manually (of the correct version....) then give it a shot.

Ok I might have found the route of my problem. So during my initial install of F4SE, I think I chose the older one. When I installed the newer 0.7.2, it didn't overwrite the f4se_1_10_163.DLL file because the new version had a different name. Deleted the 163.dll and it seems to be happy now/
