Vortex no longer showing me "enable mod" notification after installation on the newest update

Hi everyone,

Vortex updated for me yesterday and since then, the notification at the top right that appears when you finish installing a downloaded mod that allows you to enable it (or enable all if you have installed several) no longer appears. Installation still works, and if I search for the mod in question in my list and then hit "enable" it enables correctly as it did before, but it adds an extra layer of annoyance because it requires me to manually look for each mod I installed and enable it which means I have to do this every time I install something so I don't lose track of what I have to enable. Anyone else having this issue?

What are your settings? Default is to enable mods automatically when they are installed. Sounds like you have that disabled. You will not get the notification if that setting is disabled.

I still get the notification if I reinstall a mod that is in the disabled state, so it definitely still works.

All of my settings under "Automation" are turned off. I turned off automatic deployment, everything else was off by default. I just tried turning on "enable mods when installed" but that didn't bring the notification back, it just auto-enabled the mod after installation. I guess I'm fine with that, though I preferred being able to actually click "enable" or "enable all" in the notifications

Same problem here. If I enable the "Enable mods..." option it works fine and I guess I'm fine with that, though I too preferred being able to actually click "enable" or "enable all" in the notifications ( it's just a force of habit).

You have the "Enable Mods when installed" option turned OFF. Vortex is NOT going to notify you to enable installed mods because you have that setting OFF.

@SSGSSVegetto - The default option for this setting is ON. You must have turned it OFF previously.

The only time Vortex gives that notification is if you Reinstall a mod that was already set as Disabled AND you have the "Enable Mods when installed" setting ON. Vortex does not force-enable the mod after it was previously in a Disabled state, but gives you the notification to check if you want to Enable.

Also, it's faster to click the button next to the mod name to Enable, and you can do it for multiple mods at once using shift/ctrl-click.

Not true. First, "Enable Mods when installed" is an automated process that has nothing to do with getting a notification via Vortex to "Enable" a mod after instalation. The green status notification to enable a mod is handled by "Enable desktop notifications". The "Enable mods after installed" option is off by default, as it simply automates mods being enabled after being installed. Second, I have never had to turn "Enable Mods when installed" off after installing Vortex. The entire "Automation" group on the "Interface" page of Vortex settings is always off by default and I only enable "Vortex Run when my computer starts up" and I have always received every notification for mods via the notification "Bell" icon until the latest update. I never disabled "Enable desktop notifications". It's still enabled and I no longer get the notification to "Enable" mods.

Not true. I've been using Vortex since it launched. The "Enable Mods when Installed" setting is ON by default.  And since the mod is automatically enabled, you obviously would not get a notification to enable it. Think about that for 3 seconds.

If the entire "Automation" category was disabled by default, you would have to manually install every single mod you download, then manually enable it. Then manually deploy mods. That would make no sense as the default, which is why it is not.

Desktop notifications do not effect notifications within Vortex. That setting is for Windows Desktop Notifications. You will still get notifications in Vortex regardless of that setting.

Perhaps avoid telling people they are wrong when you don't know what you're talking about?

I've been using it since it launched as well, and yes the entire Automation category is disabled by default.

Vortex used to notify me ALWAYS even with the setting OFF. I ALWAYS manually install and enable mods since day 1 of Vortex relese and I had 2 notifications, one for the dowloaded mods ready to be installed and one for the installed ones ready to be enabled. The only thing I have in auto is deploy. These are my settings for years.

I just installed Vortex on a new PC within the last year. Never touched those settings. My mods auto install after download. Enable after Install. And Deploy when Enabled.

The facts do not agree with you.
