I'm fairly new to Skyrim (back a bit over a month after 5 or 6 years off from it). I've never heard of either of those. Would you mind explaining what you like about them? I'm a big fan of quest mods but don't know anything about the Skyrim ones. Thanks.

@Karna5 Vigilant is a masterpiece and the only quest mod I play in every playthrough. The newest update adds even more depth to it .
I don´t want to spoil anything related to the plot, but it starts slow , then opens up and gets very dark.
I like Glenmoril and Unslaad too (they form a trilogy with vigilant) and can´t wait for Glenmoril to be complete (its in active development).
They also add their own worldspaces (in my media are a lot of screenshots of them if you want to get an impression of what it looks like)

I just wish to thank Kukushi and drsemmel for advising me to try Vigilant quest mod. I've done the Prison Alternative quest mods (which was pretty fun) in which you get imprisoned in all the different cities and try to escape, and if you get caught you get punished in escalating degrees including some pretty cool and complex executions. And today I'm wrapping up the "Ravenous" quest mod in which you become the thrall to a Daedric Vampire who wants to open a cannibal restaurant. Both mods were entertaining and interesting, and now I'm very much looking forward to trying Vigilant next.

Thanks! 🙂

I envy you - I would love to play Vigilant for the first time again.  One thing - don´t do what Orlando says in act1 (that is a short cut to act 4)!

I ll have to try that prison mod you mentioned - sounds fun 🙂 .

edit.: I googled it and found a mod by Pamatronic (on LL). Is this the right one? Thats more fitted for female characters, I guess - though its probably hilarious with a male one, lol 😄

Yes, both the mods are on Loverlab (the Prison Alternative along with the alternate executions mod and the Ravenous mod). I imagine it should work pretty well on male character as most of the events in those mods are punishment related and not sexual, but I didn't try 🙂

Just an update on Vigilant so far. It took me longer to start it than expected because it had turned out there were 8 or 10 Ravenous quests I missed, and I wanted to complete them all (including all the elaborate ways I could die *laughs*) before starting Vigilant. Then I put all my weapons, armor, food, money, etc. in a box and crafted one ebony axe and one ebony dagger (and no armor) to use on Vigilant. I didn't want to start the quest too strong. I also cured myself of Werewolf disease in case I could get a chance to get infected by something in Vigilant (not that I know if I will--I just wanted the option if it opens up).

I've b

n following Altar (sp?) around for a while tracking some Daedras and a caster, and the Daedras keep dying in one shot even though I'm using relatively weak weapons and no magic enhancements and level 3 difficulty. But I am noticing most of the lines are acted by humans, and that's pretty cool.

However, I've also been running into some bugs. For instance, there was a Lazy Daedra on the floor, and my quest said to defeat him, so I'd swing and try to hit him, and nothing would happen. I tried everything I could for a while including crouching, and I couldn't target him. Finally I put my weapons away and pulled out area spells, and those were able to hit the daedra.

So then the quest said to talk to Alton (sp?), and I had the dialogue option to tell him I defeated the Daedra but I couldn't click it. I spent around 10 minutes trying to tell him I defeated him without being able to do it. So finally I used the sqt console command to find the quest name, and the sqs console command to find the stage, and then the setstage console command to advance the quest one stage.

So next it wanted me to talk to Altar (sp?) again, and I had the option in the dialogue box, but I couldn't select it. I finally gave up and will probably go to bed for a while since I haven't been to bed in around three days. When I return I'll look into the problems advancing the dialogues.

I have a theory it might be Altar is standing in the wrong place and that the quest is waiting for him to go where he belongs because earlier it told kept telling me to talk to him at a location, and I couldn't talk to him until he went to that location even though the option to say it was in the dialogue.

When I return I may try a trick which worked in Nuka Ride in Fallout 4 from time to time if an NPC failed to move to the right spot to advance the quest, and that's to find the current quest stage and set it to the same quest stage (not advance the stage). I don't know if it will work in Skyrim, but it's worth a try.

Overall so far I do see the potential in this quest especially since it seems to be acted by humans. So I look forward to seeing where this goes. Thanks again.

*going to bed*

Post Script: For those who may run into the problem where the NPC won't let you click the answer he needs in the dialogue options, I've twice now been able to fix it by saving and then restoring (F5 followed by F9). That seems to clear the NPC and lets the quest, such as in Vigilant, continue.

Yeah, the running around with Altano is the slow start I mentioned. It will pick up the pace soon.
I had in various playthrough almost no bugs. The one with the daedra in the inn - I had that too one time (I reloaded and it fixed itself).
Regarding the dialogue - I assume you have fuz-ro-da silent voice + engl. voice over installed? With the dialogues I never had a problem (would stuff like more to say interfere with it?)
