It's got range and area of effect, and in my humble opinion it's the strongest attack in the game short of a surprise dual-wield dagger attack. There are at least 8 or 10 spells almost as strong as Elemental Blast, but that's the spell that made me decide to shelve magery and work on other stuff. p.s. For stealth mage, don't forget you need "Quiet Casting" skill from level 50 Illusion.

I believe, that could be different for me now. I use Ordinator (+ OMEAR) with: Apocalypse, ODIN, Elemental Destruction Magic Redux, Triumvirate-Mage Archetypes, Sonic Magic, Astral Magic 2, Storm Calling Magic 2, Vulcano, Arclight, Constellation Magic, Pyromancy (Custom Skill Tree), and a custom skill patch for vigilant skills. The only thing I got out of it so far is enemies unleashing hell upon me lol.

FYI, I just looted a Master level destruction spell in Vigilant, so I suspect it's a mod spell. It's called "Sealed Sun" and is listed as 313 damage (one handed) plus burning. I just tested it dual cast and stealth attack on a room of monsters in a tower, and it killed them all instantly in one cast (on Legendary difficulty). This said, I still think Elemental Blast is a more powerful spell overall because it has a much faster casting time (can be spammed) and travels more quickly. The thing is, though, I'm glad you're building up a mage because I think you'll find they're simply not so squishy and weak at higher levels. I still actually consider them overpowered, at least in a Vanilla model.

I'm just using vanilla Yeah, sry, I should have mentioned - these are mods I remember using elemental blast when entering the memory of Pelinal. (that helped a lot) With tempering & enchanting I reach higher numbers eventually, but I need to max out smithing, alchemy and enchanting to do that properly (its tedious and eats a lot of skill points). With magic, you just max out the branches you need (and maybe their synergies, if anything) and can do very good dmg. On my current character, that has been already done anyways (crafting), but on the plus side I get to use tempered light armor while skilling up magic. ^^

Karna5
Just watched the Odyssey of the Dragonborn trailer, and the one line which strikes me as interesting is "Rich Characters." I don't really care for having to kill all NPCs I meet. I like NPCs to have engaging story arcs, either in how they treat me or how I care for them. So it sounds like maybe that author also doesn't intend for us to kill everyone we meet. But another line caused me concern, and that's the intent we will have a follower with us for most of the quest. I try to never ever have followers with me because I don't like killing everyone and everything I see, and followers tend to jump at the first sign of aggression. In Fallout 4 I can get around that by putting Real Handcuffs on my followers so they can't fight. Is there a mod in Skyrim that could make it so followers never attack anything? Finally, I'm still in Vigilant (been stuck wandering act 4 for days *Laughs*), but is Legacy of the Dragon Born worthwhile to play for someone who doesn't care about killing everyone and everything? p.s. Also I prefer stealth gameplay which means slow stalking each victim, so even if I am going to kill an NPC or monster, I like to creep up on them slowly. And followers break that by initiating open combat right away.

The character in the trailer is Auryen, the museums curator. He gives you a few quests in LotD, but does not bother you otherwise. LotD does not interfere with your playstyle (rp - wise or else), its a big museum in Solitude, where you can display a lot of the stuff you gather from the vanilla game and (with patches) questmods. The vigilant section of the museum looks great btw. . You can also go on expeditions with your museum team (they stay at base camp and let you do everything). The way I understand it, is that Odyssey expands on the museum with new mechanics and a big new related questline (I don´t think, the mod will push Auryen on you as a follower - he is a huge nerd, who likes to roam the museum and let you do all the work. ^^). But I do think, that Auryen will be more involved, as you learn about his past etc. I am looking forward to it!
