Redundandcy
Hey folks! First time posting here Got this annoying issue thats been driving me nuts for a while! Whenever I get into combat and it ends, there is a "delay" in the audio where I would hear the sound of slashing (either slashing of flesh or hitting a solid object). The audio bug goes away after 5-15 seconds but its still heavily immersive breaking.. Any idea what could be causing this? Thank you so much for taking the time to help out
Karna5
I don't recall having that issue in at least 20 years, but when I did it was because my sound card was too slow (it turned out sound cards back then were around 20% of the performance requirement in games, and upgrading just the sound card boosted my performance that much). Modern PCs don't have separate sound cards anymore, of course. But it's possible what you're experiencing might be performance related. To test it, maybe you could lower a few settings significantly just to see if it makes a difference, then restore them if not.
Redundandcy
No luck I'm afraid.. Issue still ongoing Could this be caused by conflicting combat mods in case there are any? Edited August 11 by Redundandcy

If you have combat mods that change or add audio files, maybe the game plays the first audio file but since theres a conflict he pauses and just play the next file causing a delay. I recomend you check in "Information..." if these mods have audio files, and if they are replacing one another. Good luck

Where can I find it?

Where can I find it I'm pretty sure Felipe is talking about the show file information option you have in the download tab near the download buttons. You can usually see what you're downloading, unless they're buried in BA2 archives or unless Nexus is bugged (which happens sometimes).

Fairly new to modding even after all this time Tough call. Sometimes. FYI, I don't use LOOT or any automatic load order sorting stuff. I manually try to check what files each mod installs and then read the descriptions and do my best to install mods in the right order, deciding for myself what to overwrite. Is it easy? Kinda-sorta with practice *laughs* Is it reliable? Kinda-sorta if you're careful and test and don't install too many mods in a row without trying them in game. I have used this method in Fallout 4 to install 600 (or many more) mods at a time over the years, and it's all a matter of being careful and testing things after installing them and trying to make sure things are stable in-game rather than letting an automatic mechanism tell you it's stable. Should you do this method? *Shrugs* You said you're kind of new to modding, and this is the best time to decide what approach you want to use. Try what feels right, and if you struggle too much, try something else Sorry it's a vague answer. I don't think there's a solution that works for everyone. p.s. I'm currently at 331 installed mods in Skyrim AE with 256 active plugins, so I'm not too heavily modded yet as I'm fairly new to Skyrim. The first month was pretty tough as I was getting the hang of what conflicts with what, but now things are stable and going well. Just try not to get frustrated, and take your time
