Karna5
Hi, zipzip. I didn't want to answer when you first asked this to give a chance for you to get an official response. But in the absence of that, I submit to you that Starfield alone has had well over 100,000 unique downloads of AI generated art on Nexus mods, and then there are Fallout 4, Cyberpunk 2077 and who knows how many other games with popular downloads of AI generated game-themed art. If one were to consider the worst case scenario in which a lawsuit against such AI generation sites succeeds, the art itself is already well embedded into our global society. So I don't personally see how you can get in trouble as an individual for it. On a related note, I'm aware that certain very good music AI generation sites are under lawsuit, and I see this in the long term as beneficial to AI developers because if they can set a legal precedent where a high end court decides it's okay (something I fully expect), then that will futher open the door to more AI generation and more ability of people to make art. I was discussing this topic with my girlfriend the other day, and it struck me that there will always be people resistant to this type of progress. Take, for instance, word processors with spell check and on-screen proof reading. One might think that put the profession of editors out of business, but the opposite became true. Editors no longer had to worry about spelling errors so much and could analyze character development, plot, continuity and all the things that make either a newspaper, a book or a film script good. There will always be human artists, no matter what happens with AI, because the actual process of creating art with brushes, pencils, pastels or tablet PCs is itself a joy to the artist. I myself these last several weeks have been writing poems and setting them to AI-generated music (a fun process in itself) to then use in films I create in various PC games with Nvidia Shadowplay and Windows Movie Maker. In my humble opinion you should not worry about the controversy of AI generated art of any type. Such controversy will always exist. It is my humble opinion that you should do what you like and share it with people of like minds to continue being part of and enriching the communities to which you belong. This is my humble non-Nexus opinion as a Nexus community member.
