chefbt
Hi, Not sure why, but I find these confusing to use - so a few questions. (This all pertains to companions / NPC - not player) 1. If I open body slide and choose CBBE Body - then chose a preset I installed and choose build - does that change the default female body for all companions/NPC? If so, is there a way to give a different preset body to different companions? 2. If I want to change all outfits to fit the body chosen and applied in step one - I need to create a group that includes all the outfits I want modified, then choose the body body preset, then click on the batch build option? And if at some point I wanted to change the body, I would need to re-build the outfits? 3. What is the "mesh" option for - I think I am having the most trouble understanding this one - I have tried to find video tutorials - but it still not clear. Thanks so much for any help with this. Please explain in detail - assume this is my first day doing this....
subaverage
1. Yes, it changes the default female body to the chosen preset as base shape. You can give your player character, the followers and the rest of the human npcs different bodies (presets) using this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26108 You need to install all three files. With the main file come several esps which offer different options who shall be affectet by this mod. You keep only one and can delete the rest. I kept only this one: "UniqueFemalePlayerAndFollowersDLC.esp" In Bodyslide you will find new entries for "Unique Player", "Unique Cait", "Unique Curie", etc. With these you can now give different bodies to you and the followers directly from Bodyslide, because you got new folders for unique player and the unique followers where their bodies are buildt. For the steam version and the default installation folder to find here: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\meshes\actors\character" and it looks like this: Characterassets is the default folder, playercharacterassets the folder for the player and the rest has speaking names. In case you don't want to use the direct output in Bodyslide you can still copy and paste a body (femalebody.nif and femalebody.tri) from default to one of the other folders, but have to be aware that the body for the rest of the npcs should be buildt at last again. 2. To add your preset to slider groups click on "Save as" give it a speaking name and attach it to all the groups you want to and which make sense. You would do the same with presets for your followers and the npcs. In case you install new clothings later it might be necassary to repeat these steps in case the new mods bring their own slider group. Now you have to consider who shall wear which clothings/ armour, because outfits can only have one shape. As soon as you decided you can begin to batch build for the relating character. Make sure the checkboxes for the meshes and "build morphs" are checked. 3. The mesh is the model and the checkbox for it has to be checked in Bodyslide when building the outfits/ bodies in Bodyslide. You can leave the path as is it is.
chefbt
Thanks, much appreciated! I have a follow-up question. I installed a new bodyslide preset. I opened Body slide, chose CBBE Body, then chose the new preset and clicked the Build button - it popped up a box saying it was done. When I re-started my game, Heather's body was still the same. I am pretty sure in my old playthrough when I did the same thing all the bodies changed by doing that. Am I missing something? Could Bodyslide be saving to the wrong place with a new profile? Thanks again for your help!
subaverage
Afaik Heather Casdin needs a separate file to be changed with Bodyslide. Something like this: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/37214 (with and without physics). The Bdoyslide files for the clothings can be found in the file section of the main mod. maker85
you can build for all , with bodyslide with build button you overwrite meshes\actor\character\characterassets\femalebody.nif or .. \malebody.nif (for all), hold ctrl and click on build button for create your nif in data folder , with outfitstudio you can modify or create new outfit with different body in the clothes folder or clothes for actor , (your npc or campanion with body as clothes can have multiples bodies ) , basefemalebody or basemalebody i'm not sure if those are for player

subaverage
Yes, hitting build in Bodyslide normally builds a base body shape for all. But the topic author wanted to build different shapes for different characters. This only possilbe with mods like Unique Player and Followers. The Heather Casdin mod seems to bring an own body for her and that's why I believe it's necessary to have a mod that makes her availabe for Bodyslide. Probably best, but not always necessary. For example, I've been modifying and "dressing" Mary Jane (companion mod not available anymore, since last may sadly) It comes with a new (CBBE) body and includes a Femalebody.nif, but nothing else. (No osd or anything) Simply loading one of the default CBBE osd's (slim, curvy or vanilla) will let you change the body. Limited for sure (as most sliders only seam to work one way. (e.g. shoulders can not be made wider only smaller. The hip can be moved backwards, not forwards etc.) I can then add any clothing item, which comes with bodyslide data, and (manually) adjust it to fit the body. Save the outfit to her folder and add the new clothing style (or replace an existing one). Tedious, but it works. (of course each outfit needs to be custom. Dressing her with vanilla clothing will swap the body/proportions for the vanilla version) She has a custom skin, to which I've added a bunch of tattoo's and as long as the game uses a CBBE body as default, those will always show up.
