Some plugins getting disabled regularly.

Why is it that some plugins in vortex are being regularly disabled (with no input from me) in vortex ? i.e. Improved Snow-obsidian weathers.esp,  katana-wounds.esp and a couple of others ? So i have  to ( assumedly) re-enable them before i start playing again ?

FYI - this can happen if you are using more than the 254-esp (not flagged esl) limit.  Might also be some sort of version mismatch between your Skyrim version and a compatible mod version.  I am sure that there are other causes, as well.

Thanks for the reply. relatively new to modding (skyrim that is) Would that be the " Active " and "light " comment on the right side of the orange bar on the plugins section ? Is the limit number the Active total or the light total or the sum of both added together ? Active in mine is 131, Light is 208.

Light=.espfe.  You could also search the Vortex Support forum for 'plugins disabled', or something similar.  AFAIK, only the Vortex-listed 'Active' plugins are the ones constrained by the .esp limit.

I forgot to add earlier - if you somehow 'bounce' back and forth between Vortex and the Beth mod management in the menu, this can cause plugin deactivations.  Use/access only one.

Thanks for your reply. Great info. Last question. if the esp limit is constrained to 254, how do people get around that with a couple of thousand mods+ installed ?  ( i dont use Beths mod management)
