ABakedWaffle
In Starfield, you see a lot of bipedal robots, we hear about AI, and we see evidence of Mechs. What we don't see, and what I think we really should see, are power assisted exoskeletons. You have fusion, you have advanced biomechanical/chemical research, you have varying spacesuits, and people who work in a staggering variety of gravity wells, and somehow you don't have PAEs? Seems like an oversight, and one we could fix. We could have faction-specific exoskeletons with a similar function to FO's power armor, but with more variety in purpose. Some with a focus on armor, some with a focus on heavier lifting (both in terms of mass and motion assist in gravity wells). They could be a midgame item leading to endgame with Va'ruun and Starborn exoskeletons, with the latter being the best by far, using the player's Starborn power reserves in tandem with their O2 in order to deal with encumbrance, and have the highest lifting capacity due to gravity-manipulating servos, or something like that. These exosuits could be modified like the rest of your gear, using mods for power increases, power efficiency, shielding, AI (which could lead you any number of ways), and jump height. HeyYou
There is a "Mechanized" legendary for space suits, that adds 40 to your carry weight.

I know, but an actual PAE with the tech and knowledge they have could do a *lot* better than that, by several hundred pounds at least, you know? Beth didn't really do a bangup job on power armor.... I thought there implementation left a bit to be desired.... A mechanized suit should have a fixed strength, not merely an additive.... An exo-suit would be a fun addition.

I can agree that Fallout's PA should have fixed strength because their PA frame wasn't modifiable; I disagree that that should be the case *here*. Here, we have a lot of things that can be modified, including a research system. Power assisted exoskeletons here (in my opinion) should be modifiable because we have materials that can be used to make more advanced materials, therefore we could make better versions of hydraulics, servos, electronic systems, and so on. Maybe we could give each faction (including companies) their own "expertise", but be able to build on them, you know? With all the technology and the research systems in place, it seems like a waste not to be able to improve them as much as you can, you know? If you have the ability to modify the suit, then most certainly that should change its stats.....

Maybe have one from a forbidden research site with an AI in it that can serve as both an exosuit and a companion! Sort of like how FO4's PA would be a static object when not being used, but armor when you entered it; just changing the state from "armor" to "npc"
