Pellape
The smuggler video was not as fun as I thought it would been. Not all sketches they did are good at all. I do guess Faulty Towers is much better. John Cleese was also married to the maid in real life, Conny Both and she wrote a lot of the manuscripts. She was cool. So, finding the Danielle's Book would not had been possible without the WIKI. I plan to make the quest in 4 stages and it has nothing to do with weapons at all, just a fancy stroll about. Find the book. Read abnout Danielle in a terminal Find Danielle, who now is a ghoul Inform her about the Underground - She will walk there. If she survives, does not matter really. You could go there after 3 days and see if she is there or not. It does not matter if she does, nit now at least, if I do not plan to make it into more steps that is, which I do not right now. If I do, I may need to remake the first quest stage, make her essential. I do plan to release the mod before I do something like that. So good buy to her. Well is there any classical extremely funny sketch with Monty Python left to see? Yes, 2 sketches that I think is funny. Lets see one. Live version and I love this one for sure. So damn good. original version, also good, no doubt.
Pellape
So, my plan was to add the ghoul somewhere in DLC04, well I did not knew it was, until now that is, which is damn good honestly as then I have to just play and relax with F3 DLC04 as I have not done that one yet. According to the WIKI, it is approx 4-5 game hours play, but the way I play, exploring every corners, I do guess it will take a bit longer than that, but honestly, right now after I made 21 quests, I do need a rest as I am so damn tired all the time. Why? Well I managed to turn around the clock to much and I got a bloody Jet lag and migraine. Am I bored? Well I am not, just tired as I am an old bloody fart, that's why. Are you in a hurry getting these quests? ***** Well I thought so... I did make a test in a script right now. The player has 2 choices. Complete DLC04 or do anything else. Sam Colt is telling the player that it is time to visit the River Boat and explore Point Lookout, so he will tag along, no doubt. You can park him anywhere at this point, well at any point actually as tagging him along will not make a huge difference, does it? The benefit with this quest is that if you complete Sam Colts quest or not, well start the Danielle Fay quest and complete that one later, you will get 3 perks that was not available in the release of that DLC and that is these ones: Name Description Code Mirelurk Ecology +5 damage to mirelurks. xx00FC2E Gray Matters 25% less damage from attacks to your head. xx00D1FD Swing for the Fences +10 damage with Melee Weapons. xx00D1FB So shall I include them or not in my quest after DLC04 is completed? If you say nothing, I do it. What use do we really have from Perk 1 there Mirelurk Ecology if we do not get it before taking the boat? I add it right away in my quest. So you talk to Sam, agree with him that it is time for a stroll to Point Lookout and he thinks that Mirelurk Ecology may come in handy, well yes really. I do that. 21 quests already? Is it not time for a Fallout 3 BetaTest? Just report bugs here. Edited November 14 by Pellape
Pellape
I hate when the game decide what weather I like best when I play. Fog just sour my eyes. I decided to include an item to solve it and to add it to Sam Colt. If you just choose to talk to him common, he might give you that special item and it will toggle nice clear weather on and off. Have I made it yet? Nope, when will I make it? As soon as I am done talking to you. Well about talking... Will I voice act? Do you really wanna listen to someone talking like this? Well if you like it, I might, but I do have a real american on the PM line right now, so let us avoid this mess, shall we? Is voices really necessary? Yes it is. It will make the character unique and realistic. Is the video below fun without sound? No it is not. How did I as a swede react when O first saw this character at TV around 1974? I got pissed off. And now? I love him!!! MORE of this stuff, I cannot get enough. By the way, The song they play, was my first ever owned EP, well single and I thought this one was. well I forgot. I cannot rememer everythging, can I? Is this a good song? Well it made me into I am still as musician. I love it. Have you ever heard that one before? I really doubt it. It was the biggest hit 1974. They where gone and forgotten 1977. They did kill them self as a band, The singer did die from Alcohol and drugs early. Do I miss him? Yes a lot. Very unique singer for sure. Andy Scott still play their songs live though with a new band. But that is playback. How did they sound live?? Real Live??? Do keep in mind, the recording software was not great at that locale in Germany. They could had make it better really. Was there any better bands around the 1974 music stage? Well KISS made their 2 first lousy records but not as good as this. KISS did beat them first 1977 with Destroyer. The rest did sound like crap honestly, at least for me. Sweet did rock. For how long could that band stand all bullsh that the alcoholic singer Brian Connery did pull off? Well 9 years... Then they did have enough for sure. How long time can you work with someone like that? They did try to come together, but you saw their hatred in their eyes during the last interview. Brian did try solo and failed... As longer he drank the more terrible he got as well. They did find him dead in a lousy apartment in Berlin I think it was. Looong ago... Pellape
Well I think I did it really. We do have 4 different clear weather in original F3, and what I am after is as less fog of war as possible and state 1 and 2 has that, but state 1 is more colorful, so look at the red rust color of the car and also look far away, in between the trees. What about state 3? Most colorful but a bit more fog of war. Also peek at the clock, it is recorded at dawn, 18:00 but is there any form of choices? Well mot with the original weather. What differ this from anything else? It is a script that runs every 10 seconds, as you can see, the weather change is not immediately and should NOT run every frame. Is the changes noticeable? Yes, can it be avoided? Yes, with SetWeather (sw) if I recall right. Now I use ForceWeather (fw) and that one change the weather immediately without any morphing at all. I use setWeather in F4 and that works just great, with a bat that is. So I may change it later. I want to see when the weather is changing right now. Immersion comes later. Can we do this with Papyrus? I guess so, but Papyrus do not loop as FNV scripts does, so I do not know how to keep the game repeating a script? Maybe Loop?? Do we want a script to Loop? Do we have any choice? What is dangerous with Loop? It can make the whole game to stop or any program to stop and it is dangerous. No hardware interrupts can stop a loop as we are not fast enough to do it. To make an interrupt to work, we must allow it in any program and if there is none, the keyboard or the mouse will not work at all. SO therefor, Loops are messy... Did I make loops that never ends? YES I SURE DID!!! How did I end the program to run? I pushed the bloody button. With no power, the computer is dead. So then I went in and changed the code, allowing interrupts or find a way to stop the loop. It is however enough to make a single check inside a loop, for any interrupts as they get into a ques inside the CPU. Damn?? Are you still here?? Did I make no ending loops in Oblivion? Yes I did. What did I need to do to get control and keys and mouse back? Turn off the computer, again. That can crash the whole windows. I know. Let's see the video instead. Enough about computer hardware and loops... We just want a sunny day really... Does we not? So is the Mirelurk Perk useful? See and guess your self. Pellape
What is my reaction of Pointout Lookout? It is too much deserted for my taste. There is almost no body there and it is depressing. I did like the first quest, but it sure needs more life. Maybe some players already made proper mods for it? That will only work if the NPC's has a role to play, quests to give or some sort of function. I know we can make casinos more populated in Vegas and so on, that will not change my first impression of Pointout Lookout. It needs shops, a functional bank and so on, like Far Harbor in F4. F3 is to much deserted as it is. FNV do have more life for sure, not much more but enough I guess. Compared to the game Daggerfall, that was filled with pointless NPC's They could give random quests as well as all quests, a majority was random. So how do you script that? That is a good question, is it not? I did try to mod some Daggerfall, but it is not easy as it is extremely object oriented but it also impress me. How do you keep track of who is doing what in such a condition? IDK!!!! Honestly, it is even hard in GECK, to keep track of who is doing what and when to do it. Time is essence. But it is not a straight line in GECK, well the stages are and to pull off a quest at the right point in time and place, in the right conditions. Pellape
I do think the re-population of Washington D.C after the BOS of Steel is in a right direction, for making the town more alive, more caravans, someone that really do try to make life easier while some only try to make a profit out of it, as criminals will always exist and that makes the game funnier as well, no doubt. Are they fun in RL? No way they are. We do hear gunshots time to time and I sure know how a M45 do sound like when I hear it. No wonder so many M45 is in criminal hands, as we had so many hidden in the forests all over Sweden. Is it easy to raid such depot? Yes it really is. We also store air plane robots and all kind of stuff out in the woods. Why? Well we always fear that Russia will attack us, that's why. Wil they not find the weapons? Well they will if they look hard enough. How easy is it to find them? Very very hard. You might find them if you cut down all trees. where is the documentation over all depots stored? Good question. Just look at Washington D.C, how easy was it to get inside the Weapons depot in game? Well it was the hardest quest I ever played. Nothing is ever safe anywhere ever. What about security? I do not answer that. And after next Fallout, well then it might be easier. Have I seen such a depot? Yes, I was in one getting robots for my planes and 32mm shots for our canons. Do I remember where it was? No I do not. I will never find it again. And I did drive the car with a wagon. What car? Volvo of course. A 245 bloody Volvo box, dark green with blurred color, did not reflect any light at all. Just look here https://www.volvodefense.com/en-en/ if you wanna buy them, go ahead as they are for sale. Sweden is rich because of our weapons sale, which is sick. Edited November 15 by Pellape
Pellape
I just did change the weather codes from ForceWether too SetWeather and now it is smooth and nice and not noticeable at all. What you see after a fast travel is standard weather and within 30 seconds, it gets more clear. Does the fog not fit at the Pointout or in D.C? Yes it does, but my eyes cannot handle it. There are mods that set the weather, but not to my pleasing. I want no Fog of War. I also removed Fog of War from Morrowind with the Morrowind Graphic Expanded and also added LOD. Damn did it look good?? Well... see here: I did also forgot about these shields that I made for Oblivion, for the armor mod I made... They do not look like this in my play through last summer, and I do not know why. They needs an investigation. Well they look odd, do they not? A shame we cannot use shields and pip-boy at the same time in any Fallout game... So just look and we forget about them. We see them in their right context here. Odd still... Well, this screenshot is from CS, thats why it looks so bright. Full light. They look darker in game. I also saw that some miss something at the screenshots at the DL site. Damn, I do not wanna fix that right now really. Why did I find this screenshot?? The purple shield is black in game, even the golden emblem... Why did I not see it? Well I did focus at removing the reflections in the armor, that is why, the ugly enchanting magic effect at them. Point Lookout Well, after playing Point Lookout for a while, I like it more and more really. I like the new creatures, those Swamp Folks as they are very well made, and they look like they do have parents that was siblings and their grandparents as well really, so damn distorted as anyone ever can be. I should make one into a companion if no one not already did that. I also like the atmosphere, that do remind me of the South Boston swamp area in F4, which I also did like really. Swamps? Well there is something mythical with them, are they not? Most mods about the Swamp folks are made to Nerf them or make them allies. Why? I do not see any good reason for it. One modder did claim to save ammo? Well I got plenty of those for sure. Edited November 16 by Pellape
Pellape
The Bog, Point Lookout? I had huge problems. The reason seems to be because I have Sydney as a follower but she was not with me at the Bog, I do have Brisa, Sam and Sarah with me. never the less. I almost complete the dream sequence when the game crashed, couldn't save, not fast travel, well nothing. So I have seen it, no need to try to fix it as not many play F3 anyway. So I did skip everything in that quest, set stage to 150, unlocked the Cathedral Doors with the Console and talked with Punga. Now it is time for a rest. I do not think this will make a huge difference really. There are no more fixes to find to solve the problems, so if I get more issues? I will cheat. So should I add the cheatings to Sam Colt? I am not so sure really. I do not think I will. I cannot solve the real issue, well maybe I could? I will not do it. if the game had more players, more had these issues, well then maybe? How? Well maybe with fose, IDK?? But trying to fix those huge scripts in the activators would had been a nightmare. They are gigantic, from a debugging point of view. Damn impressing though, the whole Bog play through. I got the Bomb, was transferred out doors but I could not save after I did touch the big Punga plant as then the game crashed. Well hopefully it does not matter much. Edited November 16 by Pellape
Pellape
A thought did cross my mind earlier today... From where do Sam Colt get all his information about all the items that he ask the player to find for him, so he can examine them closer? Well the player has a Pip-Boy and so does all Vault-Dwellers, and even Brisa the companion for F3, that also is a Vault-Dweller but Sam Colt is not one of those. I added a menu about his new Pip-Boy he did got today, about where he found it and alo how they can use it, as he does offer the player some services time to time, that makes no sense if he doesn't have a Pip-Boy? First when I added it, it did not show up with his current outfit, so I removed it, the Pip-Boy did pop out from its hiding inside his inventory, and now he really feels complete. Damn!!! That single item will odder new possibilities. I will also edit some older dialogues, adding the Pip-Boy into the the conversations he have with the player as well. Not much but where it might fit. Well that is for F3, as our player there is a Vault-Dweller so what about FNV? Well no big difference. He did find it in a Vault. His Pip-Boy that is. In F3 we have 3 different Pip-Boys, the player one, A glove and the NPC Pip-Boy 3000. We also have them in F4. I have not looked inside the FNV GECK yet as I have the F3 loaded right now, but I do guess there is some alternati0ved there as well, right? Well, that day, we sort that out for sure. He must have one. Screenshot stolen from a retexture mod I like it. Edited Friday at 11:14 AM by Pellape
