K1LLERLUIGI
Hello there. I will try to keep this as short and simple as possible but there is a lot of info to try and explain. Recently I decided to have a go at modding for the first time ever after seeing how good you can make Skyrim now on YT. Decided to go with NGVO via Wabbajack. I followed the install instructions - to the letter. Initially I had some issues where it was unplayable - tons of stuff seemed to be missing when the game was ran, everything from the load screen images to clothes / textures etc. I fully deleted and reinstalled a couple of times. I tried various things such as disabling things on my rig, looking through folders / confirming the install etc but tbh, I didnt do anything in particular. All of a sudden I ran the game through MO and hey presto everything was there and working. I then had the best 80+ hours on Skyrim ever. Running like a dream, I even installed a couple of extra mods everything was perfect. Then the Disaster - I noticed an update required message at the bottom of MO. I decided to do the update, after seeing the message saying do not worry this wont effect your mods etc. This messed with my game the map stopped working and some other issues. I decided to 'update' the modlist through wabbajack, and re install the couple of extra mods I installed. This was when the s#*! really hit the fan - I have gone back to the original issues I encountered where the game is unplayable with the exact same things missing and not working. No matter what I have tried I can not get the game to run again. Ive fully reinstalled from scratch multiple times going back to a brand new install. To make matters worse along the way I have lost my saves (Im guessing this is the occasion for me that will make sure i never make that mistake again lol) but atm ill just be greatful to get the game running again, im on the verge of giving up. While i have been fault finding I uninstalled Skyrim & Creation Kit at one point and decided to run MO to see what differences where there and it looks exactly the same 'runnable' but with all the same items missing, not sure if this info helps. Also I have confirmed that the load order is correct. Images attached shows what the game looks like when i run it. (Re. forum politics I hope this is in the correct section and apologies if I need to do an introduction post before actually posting) Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks, Lewis. K1LLERLUIGI
....to make matters even more confusing I just disabled then re enabled all mod plug ins, and got the game to successfully boot for the first time in two days. Exited and rebooted game to test and its back to the issue again.
AaronOfMpls
That is weird; I've never seen MO do anything like that. Although ... what antivirus do you use? Have you tried whitelisting MO2 and Skyrim with your antivirus -- tell it "these files and folders are safe, don't look over their shoulder too closely"? (Kind of a shot in the dark; I moved from Windows 7 to Linux some years ago and no longer use an antivirus.)
