Vortex remembers mods I don't have anymore.

Vortex 1.12.6, modding Skyrim LE, Skyrim SE 1.5.97 & Fallout 4.

Hello everyone, thanks for the site and to be able to ask for help, I am not young with lot's of tech skill so please bear with me.

Skyrim SE is what I play most, I ran into an issue when deleting a mod it seems like Vortex remembers the mod and still uses it, or parts of it, I deleted a mod where I could be a guard, get a guard uniform and patrol the streets, after deleting it I do not have the Dialogue available but I still get a Uniform given to me by the Captain. I have searched my game files with no hint of the mod there. I installed Skyrim LE after not having it installed for a while, I had purged my mods from Vortex, Uninstalled through Steam, Deleted game files, drive E, documents, app data, but e=when I reinstalled it mods showed up in Vortex that I did not have. Game saves I did not have, Why and where are these coming from?

I have done 3 "Clean Reinstalls" according to Gamer Poet's YT vids, I am still having ghosts of things that should not be happening, is Vortex saving my info and how do I shut that off if it is?? It is frustrating to completely wipe your game off the PC, think you got all the files removed only to find somehow you did not. Last I will say this is something I most likely did wrong, but rather than stumble around any longer I found this support thread, Thanks for any thoughts or help provided.

AFAIK, the 'cloud' that Vortex accesses only deals w/Vortex internals, and LOOT info (this through Github IIRC).  However, there are problems with having One Drive backup or something similar running.  Make sure that you have disallowed access to the cloud routines for Skyrim and Vortex, (and any other game you might be managing through Vortex?).

How does one do this "Disallow" access?? Thank You for the help.

I am not sure, I disabled One Drive in Windows 10 as soon as it came out.  I also disabled Steam Cloud backup in the Steam interface settings, under the 'Cloud' options, where 'Enable Steam Cloud' is toggled to OFF.  The GitHub access is necessary for Vortex to run and stay updated, so I would ask more about options on this thread.

A search for 'disable one drive in windows' turned up this result:  ( https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/turn-off-disable-or-uninstall-onedrive-f32a17ce-3336-40fe-9c38-6efb09f944b0 ).  You can also keep One Drive from running by using the Startup settings to keep it from starting at launch.  I don't have/use an MS account, so I don't know about any options there, including how to remove files saved in One Drive.
