Pellape
What is causing this bloody flickering? It drives me mad and get me migraine!!! I did install a F3 game retexture pack, and now I sure wanna find the cause and do something about it. I think it is the normals that is in the wrong format and what format is they saved in and what format should they be saved with? I have not found them yet so IDK?? I guess they are DXT3 and I guess I will try to save them as DXT1 honestly. Why do I write about it here? It is F3 after all?? Well I know there are more talented players and modder's here really. The F3 seems to be dead. Let us just peek at the video that I just made and also look at Sarah's newest Make up in the process as I gave her a face lift as well, my final face lift I guess. I have 4 variants to upload later, with 4 different face textures so far. Still they also need to be tested in FNV, which I have not done yet. Pellape
I deleted the new textures as I did find them. Still the mesh is flickering some, but not as much. That surface also did had a NiAlphaProperty and why?? NiAlphaProperty is used for glass or any transparent objects, not solid stone. I removed it and resaved the mesh with NifSkope. Did it help? That Mesh is broken and I also got error or warnings when I save the Mesh: Unknown ID SubItem in NiTriStripsData. WTF?? But that error is in every NiTriStip and that mesh has 5 objects. WTF?? Right now, I cannot do something about it, I need to load it into Blender, check it out, resave it, load it to NifSkope again, sanitize it, and save it. And right now I am extremely hungry and have migraine. WTF??? I do recall I have seen similar in Oblivion and maybe I should also ask there as some of my old genius friends are still about and maybe they will solve this? But honestly, I do hope YOU will solve it. Do we really need the help of old Oblivion junkies?? Er can also ask the NifSkope devs and his team mates as if Somone knows how the NIF really works, it is them. -FOOOD BREAK!!! Leave the bloody keyboard alone Pekka!!! -Yes... Damn sh't, damn the game, It can also be the GF-card, driver but I doubt it, as it is the bloody Mesh. I can live with it for now, well I have no choice really. When I did remove that NiAlphaProperty, saved it it went much better and also look better, still the rocks flicker some. They are NOT the same object and do not use the same texture... I delete them. Right now, I cannot do more than I already did really. Edited November 13 by Pellape
Pellape
I did reset some memory, this morning, well a ctrl-alt-del, earlier today and that seems to have flush out some rests from the Vram, so when I started up the game in that cave today, everything just looked great. I did restart the game after I saved my edited mesh without the NiAlphaProperty with those 4 errors, and that worked just great today bit not yeterday as those stones did still flicker. Well, So I do not need to import that mesh to Blender at all as my problems are solved. If you have the same issue, well now you know how to solve it with NifSkope. I did Delete Branch, not Delete at the NiAlphaProperty as I have bad experiances with delete but in this case, that might have been the most proper thing to do, as there is no subs under the NiAlphaProperty as it is in the NitriString objects and mostly is it those I move around inside a NIF. IDK and right now, I do not care. NiAlphaProperty is ONLY used on transparent objects, nothing else and that's it. Like my old Dvemer coffee machine. It can also flicker some, in a few angles. Well Alpha on Alpha can, as the game cannot handle that mostly, which also drew me mad 2008. Look at the glass jars, in these angles they worked but if you move, the ingredients inside the jars flicker and disappears. This room was the last thing I made before leaving Oblivion that period. The Octagon Alchemy house. I did had ideas of building this live, in the real world, out at the country side not far from I live now, at the coast. I made a complete 3D model 2 years ago, but I think I lost it in a drive crash, IDK?? It can also be on Google Drive. Well it does not matter now. I cannot afford it anyway and lost energy... It could had been done really. We also see the OLD Blender up at the left corner. The new one makes more sense. What did not work in this room? 1. To much light sources. 2. To much complex collisions. I had 5-10 FPS at this stage, approxly. And the room was not even complete... I sure learned how to make advanced rooms with high performance later on. The lag in this old video is becaues. It is a computer from 2007, low RAM, Low Vram, old GX-card. Now I have a new comp, which you may notice in my latest videos, FPS is now very high these days.
