https://lunduke.locals.com/upost/6304352/apple-removes-ability-to-run-unsigned-apps-in-macos-15-1 Don't think that if you don't run MacOS that this won't impact you trying to run unsigned software. The 15.1 update prevents that and other tech companies want to follow. The end users will be miserable due to ignorance and modders and developers will have more hurdles to deal with installing what they want how they want. You would have to get notarized permission and signing software, of course, requires an Apple Developer Connection subscription. Which, for most people, is a costly thing. Phones are already like this with locked bootloaders. Something must be done now about this canary in the coal mine. I'm not going to get permanently banned like in some places am I? I did not find Lunduke mentioned anywhere. "My Machine My Software Choice."

How many folks here actually use Mac O/S though? I am sure some do, but, they are likely a tiny minority.

I could see MS attempting to implement something along these lines, but, I suspect that the sheer number of corporate customers they have, and the incredibly wide variety of software that is used, makes it rather unlikely that they can/will.
