wfandrews
I just started a new game and encountered this problem of 3 Dorthes and 3 Alvors in Riverwood. Then 2 Skulvar Sable Hilt just outside Whiterun. One of the Dorthe and Alvor are from Skyrim.esm and one of the Skulvar Sable Hilt is from Cutting Room Floor. One of the Dorthe is from AAANPCsNo Level Limit theother from AAAHk The New World. Same with the Skulvars. I had this problem before but to a lesser degree. I had 2 Darnette Lauvin at the Fossil Camp, one from LOTD and one from Fossilyum but I just deleted the on from Fossilyum in SSEEdit. I also never had all these mods atarting with AAA. I have a AAANPCsNoLevelLimit.esl a AAAHKThe New World.esm a AAANWTheForbiddenCity.esm. Besides the AAAHKTheNewWorld.esm there is a New World.esm right above it. I do not have a clue as to what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.
7531Leonidas
The few times I have had multiples of an NPC was when I had installed two different versions of the same mod, or mod expansion. For whatever reason, the mods didn't conflict and overwrite, but had different aliases and/or refIDs. Re: AAAxxxx mods - did you check your mod manager plugin list to see which ones start with AAA? I am pretty sure that I have seen this before, but I don't have anything like that currently. Maybe some kind of patch/bugfix FOMOD?
scorrp10
When in Vortex, I click on the dropdown next to 'remove' button on a mod, and choose 'Reinstall', Vortex gives me options to either replace the existing mod, or install it as a variant of existing mod. Looks like you may have reinstalled some stuff and chose 'new variant'
wfandrews
Thank you for your replies. I uninstalled those mods in question and ran LOOT and Wrye Bash again and am about to start a new game. I usually start with Alternate Start LAL camping in the woods. I will find out soon whether I have the same problem. Another thing is I was checking my mod list and found aaaGranite Hill, I cannot remember whether Granite Hill had those a's in front of it before. Fixing the problem by removing the problem is really not enough, I need to find out what caused the problem in the first place. This is the first run-through of a newly installed game. I uninstalled Skyrim SSE AE and reinstalled it. The only thing I can recall doing different is changing the form from 43 to 44 in three very old mods I use. Those mods worked fine but I got annoyed at constantly seeing the warning whenever I ran Wrye Bash. If I have no problems up till I get the Granite Hill quest, which is very early, I will whip on over to Granite Hill and see if I have a problem. If I still have a problem I will uninstall it and reinstall it again. I really hate to do that as all the LOTD_TCC patches have masters out of order and there are over 60 of them and if I want to correct all of them it is a tedious process. wfandrews
Everything ran fine including the Granite Hill quest. There were a couple of children running around and NPCs in stalls also the quest giver and there were no duplicates so I am just going to go ahead with this game
