um, where to find THAT mod

hello folks, I am an older lady, and I keep fergetting things. I have just reformatted my C: drive as for a long time I have not been able to play Oblivion. Everything is now hunky-dory and Oblivion is installed, with OOO in place, but I do not want to run the game with the main quest - I don't like the gory bits you see - I used to have a mod which started you off in the game with the main quest having been accomplished, and all you need to do is transport yourself out of the dungeon and you can get on with the game. I do not want the refusal mod in which you tell Jaffre you won't help, this is an earlier one. Can you please tell me where to find it and what it is called?

Also I have just downloaded a patch, v1.02.0416 UK - will that clash with OOO? I haven't begun the game as yet.

Thank you in anticipation, now.... where did I put me specs....?

The patch is pretty much a necessity, and many mods require it. It won't hurt OOO.

You should also get Oblivion Mod Manager if you don't have it already.

It will do Archive Invallidation, allow for OMOD installation, and allow you

to arrange your load order.

EDIT 2: This may be what you want -

or-

"Frendly Creatures" and "Fewer Foes" are two I know of that will help you have a walk in the park

without the nuisance of having to spoil your nice frock.

Frendly Creatures puts most of the creatures on Vallium, so they won't pester you.

You can download a character to start at the sewer exit (there are heaps on the Nexus),

and you can change stats, appearance etc. before you leave the sewers.

Slof's Unicorn will provide you with a nice fast steed to ride through the countryside of Cyrodiil.

Availabe just across the water from the sewer exit. No charge...

EDIT 1: Another new one (pg 4 of the latest files today) - TUStarting Options - may be worth a look.

The mod - Fewer Random Oblivion Gates - will keep all but the main quest Oblivion Gates

from opening. Pesky things those gates. Making the sky all horrible and all.

While I'm at it - Illumination Whithin - to set lights in the buildings at night, and several of the

- Unique Landscapes - for great scenic spots.

Although not an end of main quest fix the above will make things more of a Cook's Tour.

BossDweebe ( luv the name) :thanks: that all sounds right up my alley and I will follow all of that. I did put the patch on after posting, and, as you say, all seems fine. One other mod I want to find - but I may already have it - is one which makes the stars smaller and the night time sky more realistic. I am kinda nervous of putting the 'old' mods on that I still have, as one of them may have contributed to the problem that stopped me playing, but I think that one was safe. I will get the mods manager again too. Coo! friendly critturs, my own unicorn and no horrible gory scenes... I can hardly wait to get back in there!

LFact, I live in UK, I think I bought the game from Amazon.co.uk, so seems to me the patch should be UK too. All seemed to be working when I gave it a quick go last night
