MrDjingles
Hello, I'm looking for someone who can create or update a mod that allows players to marry multiple characters in the game. There used to be mods like this, but they no longer seem to work with the current version. Given the historical context of Viking culture, where having multiple partners (concubines) was common, I believe such a mod would, from my personal point of view, add an interesting layer of immersion to the game. If anyone is interested in working on this, I'd be happy to offer up to 100 € via PayPal for their time and effort. Thank you!
ZeroOblivion27
The Skyrim marriage script is notoriously janky and extremely basic. A lot of people have tried to expand or fix it, but the way it was originally implemented makes it difficult to modify without breaking things. The script is tied to very simple quest stages and dialogue conditions, which don’t naturally support multiple spouses. The best-known attempt to fix this is "Multiple Marriages SSE" https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/21625, which you probably already looked into. That mod works to some extent but has its own issues. The main problem with modifying marriage in Skyrim is that it wasn’t designed to handle more than one spouse, so anything beyond that requires heavy scripting workarounds. If someone were to take on updating or creating a new version, they’d likely have to rewrite major parts of the system. This would involve handling additional spouse tracking, fixing AI behavior so multiple partners recognize the marriage state correctly, and dealing with dialogue and home assignment issues. the mod broke a lot of things, especially with followers like Serana. The issue with trying to expand Skyrim’s marriage system is that it was never really built to handle multiple spouses, and forcing it to do so tends to cause all kinds of weird behavior. That’s why a lot of modders have started integrating custom marriage scripts directly into unique follower frameworks rather than trying to patch the base system. By doing it this way, they can bypass Bethesda’s messy implementation and create something more stable that works alongside custom AI packages. Mods like Nether’s Follower Framework (NFF) and Extensible Follower Framework (EFF) already do something similar for follower mechanics, so adding a custom marriage system into those kinds of frameworks makes way more sense than trying to fix or extend the vanilla marriage quest. At this point, if you really want a working multiple marriage system, the best bet would be either modifying an existing follower framework or waiting for someone to build a standalone alternative that doesn’t rely on Bethesda’s broken scripting. It’s not impossible, but it’s definitely more complicated than just tweaking a few dialogue conditions. there are advanced ways of doing it however the Skyrims Limitations also have to be taken into account, when attempting to try. scorrp10
I am sure that OP has moved on, but really, the title of post is 'multiple partners/concubines'. Not multiple wives. As such, Flower Girls seduction system can be seen as multi-partner system, and Amorous Adventures even more so. Then you got ORomance that is part of OStim ecosystem. Might want to check polygamy options in the MCM though.
