SKSE for Skyrim SE "couldn't find Skyrim SE" using Vortex

So I'm having an issue where whenever I launch the skse loader, it keeps saying it can't find skyrim se even though I installed the mod with Vortex. I've made sure the files were in the correct spot, made sure steam was running in the background, still it keeps showing said error. I also tried clearing steam's cache and that didn't help either. I'm sort of at a loss what else I can try to fix it. Unless I somehow have it incorrectly installed or the wrong version which I'm not sure how that would be given that I checked all the files were where they should be and I used Vortex to install it. Any help is appreciated.

SKSE_loader should be in the same folder as the Skyrim.exe. Vortex doesn't always put it in the right spot. I usually install it manually, so I KNOW it's in the right spot. Also, need to make sure you have the correct version of SKSE for whatever Version of Skyrim you are running.

I just finished updating my base game to v. 1.6.1170, and I tried installing SKSE64 2.02.06 manually, and managed to mess it up, even though it LOOKED like it was installed the same as my .03 version for my previous SE.  I gave up, d/l SKSE64 to my desktop, and clicked on 'Install From File' in Vortex's Mods tab, and directed it to the zip on my desktop.  Problem solved!  I still don't know what I did wrong previously...

SkyUI and SKSE are having this same issue (Mainly SKSE), where it doesn't get detected. Please help.

Is SKSE installed in the correct folder? Is it the correct version for your game version?
