The modding site is taking a lot of CPU

So my main issue here is that for the last month or two when ever I open a mod page with a new tab it spikes my CPU sometimes to 100% and then my entire computer slows down then returns to normal levels in 10 to 20 seconds, yet I can run games no problem. I have a i7-9700K CPU.

Have you checked your browser and its addons, especially including antivirus and antimalware?  Might need updates...

Everything updates automatically if I remember correctly, the only addon I have is adblock if that means anything, my Malwarebytes Premium is up to date and its only when the website pages are loading do I get the massive slowdown but that never used to be the case.

Is it any particular page? Can you provide the link? 

This doesn't sound like normal behaviour so I am thinking it's something in your browsing setup that causes it or some kind of browser issue.

its just any nexusmods page, it could be Skyrim, Fallout or any of the other game pages.

Ok it might be browser, I just tried the site on Mircosoft Edge CPU spikes to 40% to 50% for a second, tried multiple tabs spike to 70% and no slow down, while opening one tab on Google Chrome leads to 80%spike and computer slow down.

Chrome is notoriously a resource hog, but that seems extreme. We're not doing anything intensive on search/mod pages. Once the page is loaded that's kind of it unless you click something. Interesting that you didn't have the problem in Edge. You may want to check your Chrome addons or any software (such as anti-virus) that might be messing with the browser too.

I'll look into that, it only started a few weeks ago and as far as I remember I didn't do anything with Chrome but the website is fine when it finishes loading its just when its loading the pages.
