lchgbs Posted January 4 Share Posted January 4 Hello, I hope find someone to help me here. I dream to be able to play my old skyrim save but when i load my game it just crash and back to windows. I currently have the skyrim special edition but i also tried to lauch on skyrim legendary edition but it did'nt worked. Thanks to vortex i carefully re downloaded all the mods listed in the save tools exept "Quick Start - Skip the Opening Sequence.esp" as it is not available on nexus, but anyways i don't think it cause the crash. Shadeybladey Posted January 7 Share Posted January 7 This sort of crash is usually because there's a mod listed in PlugIns.txt but the corresponding esp does not exist in DATA. And you have to have LE mods for Skyrim LE and SE mods for Skyrim SE. Beyond that, I'm afraid I cannot help. I currently have a save that crashes on load for no reason, or crashed as soon as I move. So I had to load an earlier save and avoid the area, which is annoying because it's at Riverwood where my player home mod is located! Never happened before in more than 12 years. There have been many game updates since 2016 and if you're switching between LE and SE (as in trying to use an LE save on SE) you're probably out of luck. LOAD ORDER is also going to be important when loading an old save. You probably won't remember the load order if you had a lot of mods back in the day. But maybe you auto sorted your mods with LOOT or something like that, if so you could try that and see if it loads up. Another thing... having a bunch of old saves in your save folder that have different mod requirements can actually mess things up for you, though usually if this is an issue it will result in CTD before the main menu. I don't think you gave exact details about the type of CTD. If you're having a CTD before the main menu, move all of your other saves except the one you are trying to load and see if that allows the game to load into the menu.
