Resolution reset issue

So, I'm replaying Skyrin SE once more but I have a new problem which hasn't happened in the past.

My screen resolution is 2560 x 1440 and in the past when I launched Skyrim through the Vortex SKSE launcher, it worked like it should. It also worked ~6m ago when I last played it. Now when I start the game, the resolution is changed to 3620 x 2036 and every time I come home and log in to my computer, I have to first open up Skyrim's normal launcher like you would normally do without SKSE, then change the resolution manually back to 2560 x 1440 from the options menu, close the normal launcher and then start the game through SKSE with Vortex and then it works like normal. Otherwise the resolution is defaulted back to 3620 x 2036.

Any ideas what might cause this and how to fix it? I haven't updated anything since I last played Skyrim around July so this issue has popped up out of nowhere. Only thing that has updated is my computers regular Windows updates and my GPU drivers. So I have the same mods as before and the same computer and all that.

I can still play the game normally but it's annoying to keep having to change the resolution setting every time I want to play.

Have you looked at this link ( https://stepmodifications.org/wiki/SkyrimSE:Display_Settings )?  It is fairly recent.  I think something has changed the game's default .ini to the wrong values.

Thank you. I checked the .ini file and saved that one so we'll see if it stays that way. I did a test run and it did work so it looks promising! The true test will be next time I turn my computer on again restart everthing.

Couldn't find the SKSE .ini file though.

This is from SKSE readme:
* Where is the skse.ini file?
 - SKSE does not include one by default. Create an empty text file in <skyrim root>\Data\SKSE\ named skse.ini. Create the SKSE folder if it doesn't already exist.

Oh, I see. Thanks. Well I'll create one if the initial .ini change is not permanent. So far it works but I haven't done a propper restart on my pc to see if it holds through that.
