Mod Idea. Assigning lights and other wireless objects to specific switches when building settlements.

I want to make or have a mod made that allows switches and power radiators to be assigned a "channel number" and powered objects that are "wireless" (i.e. lights) to be assigned a channel number so that lights and other objects can be assigned to a specific switch and only turn on when said switch is on.

The goal of this mod is to assign wireless powered objects to a specific switch to prevent scenarios such as lights close to the power pylon staying on even though the switch closest to the lights is off.

I am aware that there is a procedure to assign lights and wireless powered objects to a specific switch. I have used that procedure with success, but I would like to make a mod to bypass all the procedures for assigning lights to switches for everyone's sanity. Lol

This mod that I want to make will be ideal for rooms that are next to each other and have room lights that need to be controlled by their respective switches without power bleeding over and powering lights in the next room.

Please see the diagram below for an idea of how the mod should function.

How user interaction with the mod should look:

For this example pretend that we are using an Xbox controller.

  • Player can press X on a switch, power pylon or radiator to assign a channel number via pop up dialogue with a list of numbers to choose from.

  • Player can press X on a light to assign a channel number via pop up dialogue with a list of numbers to choose from.

  • Assignable numbers should be something like 0 through 9

  • All switches, power radiators or wireless powered objects should default to 0 until assigned by the player.

  • Player should be able to reassign channel 0 to any power radiator or wirelessly powered object.

This mod should be made by someone else as I have no experience making mods or scripting. So anyone is welcome to this idea. In the meantime, I have no idea where to begin, what tools to use, et citera So video guides on scripting and using the Creation Kit pertaining to this mod are more than welcome. I do have experience tayloring skyrim mods to what I need using Creation kit.

It doesn't exactly help you but Zebrina's Workshop Devices has something similar to what you're looking for but for doors. You can create a switch which will prompt you to grab and release the door you want associated with that switch so then whenever you power the switch the door opens. I have no modding experience but maybe someone could apply that code to function for wireless lights rather than doors?
