Abshole024
So deathclaws apparently have voice mimicry like a parrot, as in Fallout 2, the intelligent deathclaws could talk to the player by mimicking words in the correct order to say what they wanted to, but considering that the species can mimic speech, I always thought it would be cool if there was a mod that replaces some Deathclaw audio files in 3/NV/4 with clips that added in random voice mimicry. Since Deathclaws kill people though, most of what they would hear are people screaming and calling out for help. So imagine how creepy it would be when you're sneaking by a deathclaw, and you suddenly hear a voice yelling, "Please, help me!" Except it's actually the deathclaw mindlessly mimicking something it heard. I think if done well, it could come off as quite unnerving.
Glitchfinder
TIL. This wouldn't even be that difficult to implement.
Abshole024
I wouldn't think so, I'm no modder, but I bet it would just be replacing a couple audio files. It would probably be more difficult to make the file than to implement.
Glitchfinder
The deathclaws do have some idle breathing sounds, but that's not the best way to do it. It's better to give them actual idle dialogue, similarly to how you can occasionally hear raiders complain about how they hate it when their victims beg. That said, you're right that making the audio files is a challenge in and of itself. It's actually outside my skillset, so I've enlisted a friend's help for that. Abshole024
Well I'd be interested to see anything you could come up with, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
