Venomouslycrazy
Hello, I am here with the intention of making mods for The Long Drive and I don't know what software I need to do so, and I wanted some help.
HeyYou
If the game has it's own 'community' here, join that, and post there. Never heard of the game, so, I am no help at all there..... Edit: Ok, no community for that game here..... Maybe try posting in the Mod Ideas Forum????? I really can't think of a better place. Depending on what type of modifications you are planning, but the game apparently is made with the Unity Engine, which is already greatly supported for modding. Here are some programs you might find useful (for The Long Drive): TLD Workshop / Mod-Loader (not sure if this is the official DL, there is apparently a discord server where you can download it, see the guides at the bottom) Unity Mod Manager Text / Code editor, I'd suggest installing Visual Studio Code as it runs great and is very versatile for editing code stuff. Just install some addons for coding languages, maybe there is even stuff for Unity Stuff, dunno - haven't modded a Unity game myself for now. Maybe some Hex Editor like HxD for example Probably not necessary but universally useable with lots of functions: ReShade with the shadertoggler add-on, if you want to get into shader stuff. (or other add-ons/effects) Bigger maybe: Cheat Engine - I'd say it is save, but you have to decide if you trust it. And you will have to do some reading or watch videos to understand anything, memory modifying is a bit next level. There are also some included guides with training programs in CE and lots of content online like lua script codes, video tutorials etc. (how to install TLD mods, or a Steam Guide) Not sure if my post here will help you, but I thought I'd just give you some input I know at least, but maybe it helps you just a little bit, tho I am fresh meat in game modding too
