aqvarivsatnexus Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Mostly this is for Bethesda. Why is space debris bumping into my spaceship? I have a shield. A very good shield. So why? Cheers, Aqvarivs
HeyYou Posted February 7 Posted February 7 If you hadn't notice, when you bump into stuff, if it's large enough, it actually damages your shields. If your shields aren't up, you take hull damage.
aqvarivsatnexus Posted February 7 Author Posted February 7 I'm not talking about asteroids, rather space debris. That small clutter around every planet. It shouldn't be clanging off my hull with a fully functional and powerful shield. It just doesn't make sense. I mean have you ever watched Star Trek?
HeyYou Posted February 7 Posted February 7 Do the shields in starfield work the exact same way though? Apparently not..... seems the shield hugs closer to the hull, rather than forming a bubble around the ship.
aqvarivsatnexus Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 Umm... my point is that they apparently don't work in either fashion given a fully functional and powerful shield can not deflect the space debris that Bethesda has cluttering around every planet.
HeyYou Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Do you take hull damage when you hit it? No? Then the shields are indeed doing their job.
aqvarivsatnexus Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 They are not doing there job if the debris goes clang, bang, along my ships hull. Shielded means shielded from, not... as long as it's just the paint getting scraped its all good. Good chat!
HeyYou Posted February 8 Posted February 8 I see your point, but... it IS a game after all. Beth likely wanted to have SOME indication you were running into stuff..... Some of the cockpits don't have the best field of view......
